Naïve Old Fart 13,025 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 It's great fun.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biTQ21l39F0Is it as good as "The Hunt", from "TFC"?

Jay 46,244 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 New Club Batch coming Dec 1stA new batch of titles coming from the Varèse Sarabande CD Club! Four new releases will be announced December 1, 2014. The scores being released span 47 years.https://www.facebook.com/robert.townson.16/posts/1505519556377573
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Why did they have to choose the same time as LLL?
Jay 46,244 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 He didn't. LLL announces Friday the 28th at midnight PST, Varese announces Sunday the 30th at midnight PST. Varese Club batches are always Sunday nights at midnight PST.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 2 days doesn't help me suddenly get more money.
Jay 46,244 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Well you don't have to order from either company right away, nothing sells out any more.
Kühni 485 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I hope Predator 2 is not in this batch, because I don't want the bitching over at FSM about it to stop.(Note: Sarcasm was used in this post.)
Jill Sandwich 11,168 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Sarcasm ceases to be sarcasm when the writer/speaker reminds the reader/listener they are using sarcasm.
Kühni 485 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Germans don't get sarcasm, nor like it. Therefore, I specifically point it out when using it. Doubly annoys them.
Jill Sandwich 11,168 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 I prefer to annoy people by not pointing it out. That means emoticons are off limits. I want to know who is taking it seriously and who is blessed with the ability to read between the lines. It's a litmus test to measure a person's intelligence and ability to recognise satire and caricature.

Jill Sandwich 11,168 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 It will likely be a set of obscure scores no one's heard of.
Incanus 5,890 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 It will likely be a set of obscure scores no one's heard of.Yup. Townson's dream projects I am sure.
BloodBoal 8,711 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 My Little Friendship: Magic Is Pony is not an obscure score!
Kühni 485 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Yes, a deluxidized Small Soldiers would be most welcome in this household.
Jay 46,244 Posted November 19, 2014 Posted November 19, 2014 Well, we know Predator 2 will be in the batch
lonzoe 19 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Well along with Predator 2 hopefully these will be included in the batch as well...Ghostbusters I and IIThe Terminator (assuming this one isn't part of LLLR Black Friday releases)
Richard P 5,303 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Ah ha, I knew I'd read somewhere:http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=1&threadID=86626&archive=0I would bet good money another release of Ghostbusters and a debut release of Ghostbusters 2 happening this year to coincide with their respective anniversariesMVUnless it was one of the mentioned delayed titles, then I'd be very confident we'll see Ghostbusters 2 from either LLL or Varese's Xmas batches.Given that MV previously mentioned that the masters were missing, this is fantastic news. I've wanted to hear this score outside the film for a long time.
Xander Harris 9,677 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Potential Williams release(s) tonight? These bastards have been holding onto Dracula, Jaws 2, Earthquake and the rest for long enough.
ManofDestiny 104 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I will order Predator 2 (2CD set)Pass the rest.
crocodile 9,724 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Ordered Predator 2. Sounds like a great sonical improvement.Karol
Frank Vincent 301 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Also ordered Predator 2.The other titles released are:Peggy Sue Got Married (John Barry, 2000 copies)For Whom the Bell Tolls (Victor Young, 1000 copies)Fedora (Miklós Rózsa, 1000 copies)
publicist 4,650 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I'll take PEGGY SUE. Though with the nagging feeling of Intrada having one great Goldsmith release up their sleeves i cannot make my last big order 2014 yet.
publicist 4,650 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I guess POWDER or GHOST AND THE DARKNESS though both are wild guesses.
crocodile 9,724 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I guess POWDER or GHOST AND THE DARKNESS though both are wild guesses.Either one of them would be cool.Karol

crocodile 9,724 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I was hoping for The Polar Express this year. But I guess not. Seems like La-La Land territory.Karol fommes 1
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Predator 2 and Peggy Sue. But I want to see how much Predator soars to when it sells out before I open it.
Trent B 354 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I'd love to get Predator but it'll be a long while before I can buy CDs again...
Jill Sandwich 11,168 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I think all the labels need to get into the 2010s and work on creating mobile apps that offer not only fast access to their CD catelogues, but also push notifications informing users of low stock alerts and that a CD release is imminent. An app might also have a wish list function that allows users to plan their purchases and the app alerts the user if that CD is at low stock.
Xander Harris 9,677 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 Huge disappointment this year. Again.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted December 2, 2014 Posted December 2, 2014 I think all the labels need to get into the 2010s and work on creating mobile apps that offer not only fast access to their CD catelogues, but also push notifications informing users of low stock alerts and that a CD release is imminent. An app might also have a wish list function that allows users to plan their purchases and the app alerts the user if that CD is at low stock.Sounds brilliant, but by the time that happens CDs will be obsolete LLL just got around to hosting their own cover art files.
