  1. Be careful, filmmusic, there might be some CGI in it! Mike Figgis, who is directing a documentary about the production, described Coppola's Megalopolis as “Julius Caesar meets Blade Runner”
  2. Starts okay but becomes completely boring in the second half.
  3. I only have interest in post-1900 classical music. I might give that a listen but so far I never heard anything from Glass that I liked. It's my experience that it's usually people with designer glasses that dig Glass. They don't really like classical music (too old-fashioned) or contemporary classical (too tiring), but for some reason they dig Glass. Maybe it's because Glass reminds them of glasses? Who knows?
  4. Those dog fight scenes must have been breathtaking in IMAX. I watched it with headphones and thought the unconventional music worked really well in Dunkirk. Everyting is like a musical interpretation of a ticking clock but I guess it does't make for a nice or great CD to listen to. I dunno, I haven't tried it yet. I think I am going to let the score be an integral part of the movie.
  5. I'm in the process of watching Dunkirk for a second time, and again, in my opinion, this is Nolan's best pic to date. It's also his only 'Feel-O-Rama' movie where the director really takes his time (too much time for the average Nolan apostle, I'm sure) to make you feel like you are there actually living it. And no, I don't need to love the characters to pieces before that to happen. It's all in the direction and storytelling.
  6. If you have enough self-confidence, you can always read the reviews and still make up your own mind.
  7. James Cameron and Ridley Scott watched Alien: Romulus .... And they loved it! https://coveredgeekly.com/entertainment/tv/james-cameron-has-seen-alien-romulus/ What else are they going to say?
  8. Philip Glass, the most overrated composer ever, was extremely boring. Salvation finally came with Stravinsky. Järvi's version is pretty fast but I like it that way.
  9. According to reviewers, this is the movie to watch right now.
  10. I wouldn't surprised if some people with zero interest in soundtracks (that's how they call them) might have a Morricone or Zimmer 'best of' CD.
  11. Why not? You never understood what the big deal was with the original so maybe this series will change your mind! Ever since Danny Boyle's Sunshine, I don't see the character, I see her. For some strange reason, I find her distracting.
  12. I gave up after 15 minutes. According to Zack, these are the kiddo versions, the adult versions will be released later this year.
