John Williams made them as a joke to throw off JWfans.  Now every JW expansion is gonna have fake songs based on the score's themes

Scherzo for violin and motorcycle? Has that been debuted elsewhere? I don’t recall hearing of that ASM arrangement before now.

To be fair, the forum has always had at least one guy who calls every new JW work a disappointment.  It's a JWfan tradition

Probably my most memorable online experience was the few days after the release of the TFA soundtrack when a lot of JWFan users (including myself) collectively went from being quite disappointed with it to appreciating how great it is.

So does Indiana Jones but that didn't stop them from asking him to contribute...

To be clear I'd be indifferent at worst to almost any other composer doing this as long as her theme's in there. Regarding Williams, I feel the same as I did about Indy 5, which is that I don't care whether this movie happens or not, but basically satisfied with anything that manages to put another John Williams soundtrack into the universe.

Imagine a world with no prior expansion, leak, boot, or clean DVD rips...only going from the OST album in 1991 to this 32 years later...

Holy cow what an experience this would be right now.

The Battle of Syracuse is unlistenably chopped up in the film. I really don’t understand the wave of comments about how much better it is in the film except that it is longer. The Airport I get. The extended film version is largely untouched and rocks. Battle of Syracuse, though, is honestly better in its album arrangement. What’s in the film is like a child with ADHD screaming at different cars on the street. The sound editors murdered this one.

Superman and Hook are objectively the most overrated JW scores (judging by extensive twitter studies I took)

Well, we've reached the fourth Sunday and the end of our journey.

    7M7 Walking Home
    7M7A O Holy Night
7M7B Star of Bethlehem - used the OST version which is the actual film take
7M7C Carol of The Bells - didn't recreate the exact film transition, instead faded this out in time for 8M6 to enter cleanly, so it can take center place.
8M6 Setting The Trap fits fine.

For this one I followed the same pattern as for HA2 - leave the footage as is, separate all the little cues, space them out. Unfortunately I had to intervene for Paint Cans, had to shorten the footage in one place and lengthen it in others. Overall, 4 LLL tracks in 26 pieces over 13 minutes.
    9M1+2 The Attack Begins
9M3 John Wayne Enters The Basement
    9M4+5 A Hot Hand
    9M6 / 10M1 Sore Head fit fine.
10M2 Paint Cans - some strange edits going on here, tried to keep up.
10M3 Clothesline Trapeze - partially unused but fits. The insert is noticeably edited in in the film audio if you pay attention to it, the quality/mix/stereo field changes.
10M4 Marley To The Rescue fits.
10M5 Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - film version, fits.

    11M1 The Next Morning
    11M2 Mom Returns
    11M3 Finale fit great.
11M4 We Wish You A Merry Christmas
11M4A End Credits - had to slow the credits way down to make them fit!

    alternates:

Insertless original 10M3 Clothesline Trapeze - fits
Instrumental Walking Home and early church sequence assembly before Star Of Betlehem was made into a carol too - fits
O Holy Night alternate finale - fits.

Easy, there wasn't any rules in place to prevent members of confusing "songs" and "score". Plus ,even back in the day they always go for the most "trendy" choice no matter how much it sucks.

In the 70's and 80's Blockbusters were automatically excluded from winning best picture in favor of serious dramas (like Kramer vs Kramer ) or "witty" Woody Allen romantic comedy.
The Exorcist, Jaws, Star Wars and E.T should all have won Best Picture by a mile.

Around the year 2000 the Academy was briefly cool and LotR won

In the  mid 2000's political correctness came into play and since about 2016  only woke movies win anything.

Yep, definitely sounds like it was (badly) tracked into that scene. It's obviously not part of the original recording.

Frankly a lot of the repurposed music from earlier scores sounds unmusical and badly inserted, as if they just re-recorded a bunch of old cues and gave them to Ramiro to paste wherever. Some of those Jungle Chase excerpts in the train chase sound pasted over new JW material.

I wonder if this was temp track love, and these excerpts are the "patches" found in the cue list?
