One theory I’ve read is certain members of the original cast had a sequel clause in their contract which meant they were due a significant pay rise. Could be a cost-cutting thing.

A few things I’ve noticed about this interview, apart from the fact I find this guy insufferable.
 
1) His casual dismissal of the European orchestra.
2) His desperation to appear like he’s doing something new or interesting.
3) How uncomfortably close he gets to the female vocalist.
 
I wish other scores got this kind of Vanity Fair piece.

I imagine Branagh not choosing Doyle is a studio decision more than anything. Probably so they can put "Score by Academy Award winner Hildur Guðnadóttir" in promotional material. No one will probably see the film anyway. The last one barely made any money (obviously COVID played a part) and both the films have received mixed reviews.

Saw the movie again. I’ve said it before in this thread, but I am convinced Indy stays in Syracuse in the original script.
