I can understand shipping costing $10 or so, but when it costs multiples of the value of the product itself, something's very wrong. I only bought this on CD out of a desire to have all Indys physically.

Yeah, the shipping costs are stupid. But for me, it just brought it inline with an intrada or LLL release.....  I need a cheaper hobby

    Thanks @bigjimwilson & @mstrox,

I really thought I wasn't going to be able to get this after missing out previously.  I stayed strong and didn't even listen to any tracks on streaming services with the hope I'd be able to get this one day!  I'm really looking forward to finally getting and listening to this.

Pity about the shipping charges...  CD $11.98, Total $31.37!

These episodes from @TownerFan and @mahler3 with Mike M are becoming something I look forward to and get excited for ALMOST as much as the releases themselves they are just that much of a treat. It's gotten to the point that I download each episode and save it along with the score in the collection.

I had tickets for the first night at the Sydney Opera House last night.  But I tested positive for Covid the day before so couldn’t attend.  I was so disappointed!

Anne-Sophie Mutter is in Australia this weekend premiering the concerto at Sydney Opera House, with Simone Young and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra also performing a selection of underrated and famous film music.
Encores were Across the Stars, The Duel, and Schindler's List.

Like Jurassic Park, John Williams did not compose any "true" concert arrangements that were recorded at their film's recording sessions.

For the first film, the OST album track "Theme From Jurassic Park" contains two short pieces he did record specifically for the album (heard from 0:00-0:48 and 3:15-end), but the entire middle of the track is the film cue "3M2 The Dinosaurs" - the exact same performance and mix as what you heard in "Journey to the Island".

He did later put together a concert arrangement of the film's themes, which he performed in concerts many times, recorded for the second Spielberg/Williams album, and recorded again at the sessions for The Lost World.

For The Lost World, the OST album track "The Lost World" is the music he wrote and recorded for the end credits.  Of course, it's a de facto concert arrangement, since it basically functions as the concert arrangement of the major new theme, despite being written for the end credits.

He would later revise the opening of this 3 times.  The first revision was recorded at The Lost World's sessions, under the name "End Credit Intro", and you can hear that opening the track "The Lost World (Alternate)"

A second revised opening was used in the sheet music that was published shortly afterward, and was conducted by Williams in London in 1998.  It was also used on Erich Kunzel's re-recording:

Some years later, he revised the opening again.  This 4th opening can be heard in the FSO re-recording:

The 10:15 length listed there is clearly an error.  It says 33 pages, which is correct and is just the usual 3 minute "The Lost World" track, but with the revised opening.

Count me in the group of people who last month or so put in my cart ready to order, saw the shipping cost, then decided to wait and see if Amazon was going to sell it with free shipping in August. And then, if Amazon or anywhere else with cheaper shipping didn't, just go ahead and pay for the excessive shipping from Disney Music Emporium. Nowhere did I see "limited" anywhere, and stunned to see it gone. More stunned to find people all as stunned as I was.

Quite frankly, I'm appalled like I see many of you are as well. I don't post very often like I used to and tend to only log in when something big pops up, but those that know me know I'm a John Williams Soundtrack/Score CD completionist and 45+ years of collecting Williams soundtracks and a completionist on JW score CDs for over 30+ years comes to an end... because Disney --  especially in the last decade or so -- seems to be masters at biting the hands that feed them! Zero sense in what they did here.

The Potter sequels, obviously. I mean, he didn't do literally anything in 2007 and 2009! He had the time and resources for at least Order of the Phoenix and Half-Blood Prince (Deathly Hallows 1 and 2 came out while he was working on Tintin and War Horse, but he'd still would've found time for it). Yet, he was simply forgotten.

Whose fault is this? Yates, who thought JW couldn't do a "dark and disturbing" score for his very serious and adult fantasy epic? JKR, who never once voiced gratitude for the greatest film composer of all time writing the classic themes for her work?

To be honest, that one would have had a far better chance of becoming a classic, even more so than any other Superman, Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings films.

About a week ago I offered my opinion in another thread: there is no way this is a limited edition that won’t be reprinted. Anyone who will want to get a copy will be able to do so - without stress or being forced to pay crazy prices on the second hand market.

It is annoying for sure that it is currently sold out, but it is unlikely that this is a limited “one time” print. More copies will be pressed in the future, I’m sure of it.

    "Dear Disney Music Emporium,
A few admiring fans seek signed copies of my latest CD.  I'd therefore be grateful if you could ship a few copies to me as soon as possible.
    Salutations,
    John Williams"

    "Dear John,
We apologize for the inconvenience, the CD was a limited run and has sold out.
It is still available on LP but we'll have to limit you to two copies so that everyone can get to enjoy the magic.
    Cheers,

    I have Twitter, oops "X", I mean.

But I'm considering writing to John Williams directly – a genuine letter with an envelope, a stamp, and a hint of my perfume, Kouros by Yves St-Laurent.

Dear John Williams, yes, that's me the famous "Bespin". Do you know my discography... euh I mean, your discography? Anyway, can you send me a signed copy of your latest CD (if you can find one, haha!). Thanks!
