Dr. Rick 1,114
I have the 4-disc set as well as the JP subsequent release so I'll probably get this as well, hopefully there's enough additional goodies on this to justify the $30 or so lol

Dr. Rick 1,114
I must admit the two covers will look slick next to each other. Now we just need LLL to make a slip case available for both ala HP and Disaster box sets SpotTheDog, Brando and That_Bloke 2

scallenger 476
While I don't collect vinyl myself, I do hope there is one for TLW, and JP3 someday. Neither ever got one, unlike all the other Jurassic scores. It would be cool to see what Mondo would come up with. Toillion
Bellosh 3,016
while box sets are nice, JW is too good to not have ALL his releases as individual IMHO. But that's another conversation entirely. SpotTheDog

Popular Post JTW 1,289
10 minutes ago, DangerMotif said: I’ve never really checked out this score, how does it compare to the first? Is it good? Well, imho it's not as good as JP overall, but in some ways it is. If anyone can always make the sequel better than the original, it's John Williams. Like he did in the case of Jaws 2, The Empire Strikes Back, he did it here as well. He didn't copy his original work, he gave it a whole other flavour. It has much more action music, it's much faster and aggressive if I may say so. To me JP is the superior score, but to many TLW is the better one. It's a matter of personal taste, I guess. With all that said, it's an absolutely must-have for both fans of JW and fans of Film Music in general. It's a GREAT score. Popular Post Datameister 1,903
1 hour ago, DangerMotif said: I’ve never really checked out this score, how does it compare to the first? Is it good? Very different from the first score. Lots of grooving Latin percussion and little use of the previous themes. There's a new, more darkly adventurous theme that bookends the events on the island, as well as new motifs for the dinosaurs (both as threatening predators and as caring parents). It's dark and jungle-y and not very melodic. It was really disappointing to me at first. Later it became one of my favorites. ymenard 54
There is a tracked part from Remembering Petticoat Lane that could find it's way into this release (as an ALT). Perhaps the inclusion of percussion-only (or -less) tracks? Ripples and Corporate helicopters have sound-effects in them IIRC (like a single synth note). Yeah, I have the SE 2-dics sets with more music but there are times I wished I never sold the big box set. My advice is to keep the JP box set. rough cut 1,653
Looks nice, as any JW release. I got the box set and didn’t go for the Jurassic Park stand alone release since it didn’t have any substantial changes. But it still irks me that I don’t own the best possible version of the score since JP is one of my top JW albums - if not the top JW album. Regarding buying a stand alone release of this - I will probably not go for this one either, especially if there’ are no or only only minor changes. But I’m glad to see it in print… Now go do the same for Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny!

Taikomochi 1,098
My main hope is that the brass in the previously-unreleased middle section of Rescuing Sarah is fixed. It sounds oddly muffled to me. That would probably get me to buy this new set.
