ciarlese got a reaction from JTW in Did you get the Dial of Destiny soundtrack on the CD format before it sold out?
There is an announcement on JWfan mentioning the 9th of August as a "release date".
https://jwfan.com/?p=15115
The LP are still on preorder, with a shipping date 23rd of August.
"They never said it'd be available elsewhere in August. "
They never said it wouldn't, neither they said it was a limited run, something you really expect to be said in similar circumstances...

It would be interesting to know any source at that statistic, as I am not sure it's so accurate.

I suggest we all leave a comment on the Youtube video where Lucasfilm members are praising Williams' score.
What's happening here is beyond incompetence.

My theory: it's the pre-order at Disney Euphoreum that's limited, not the soundtrack.

I just assumed it would be on Amazon U.K. closer to the release date - didn’t even cross my mind the Disney site would be a limited exclusive (I looked of course). Had they said so, I would have ordered immediately with the usual USA > U.K. shipping us Euros know and love.

An easy one would be "you are not alone".
However, you reminded me of this video:

ciarlese got a reaction from enderdrag64 in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (Disney Records Original Soundtrack Album) - NO FILM SPOILERS!
Am I the only one who is frustrated to see how the "digital" format is considered opposite to the CD format while the CD audio is 100% digital itself?
I appreciate it's more about physical Vs. not physical, but it's wrong to think not physical=digital.
But I guess this will stay like this for ever now...🙄

ciarlese reacted to pete in Mike Matessino: "At least 5" new Williams releases due this year
We've had four so far: Spacecamp, Presumed Innocent, Amistad, and Sabrina.
Intrada have two in the works. One of the Intrada guys said recently Mike was working on a couple of Williams releases

Doesn't seem odd to me in the slightest. This is how everything works in 2023. Scores just show up as digital downloads/streams the same Friday the movie comes out, with OCCASIONAL Wednesday drops from time to time. There's no reason to expect this one to be any different.
If it is getting a physical CD edition, it likely won't be available until after the digital album is out.

Didn't know Darth Vader likes football.
However, who said he is an AC Milan supporter? 🤔

My LLL orders always come in boxes!
I usually wait to order a bunch of titles at once though, so that's a factor.

Just came across this super8 release on a Star Wars Facebook fan page.
Did you ever see the SW main title called like that before?

ciarlese got a reaction from That_Bloke in A sign of things to come? Star Wars: The Piano Anthology - Music by John Williams Featuring Themes from All Nine Films Deluxe Hardcover Edition with a foreword by MIKE MATESSINO
My understanding is that nothing on this book is unreleased, and most is still in print.
I already have all the folios, as well as the special edition and the Tony Esposito arrangement, however I think I will still buy it.
But I really hope they will do something similar for Indiana Jones: still can't believe the Last Crusade didn't have a piano folio...

ciarlese got a reaction from Gurkensalat in Williams filmography in Bluray - a list
Anybody interested in 3D movies here?
I like to enjoy them on my 3D projector, and I was wondering if there is any missing in my collection.
As far as I know, the only movies released in 3D scored by JW are:
The sequel trilogy The Adventures of Tintin The BFG Also, two movies originally released in 2D have been remastered in 3D: Jurassic Park (available to purchase) and The Phantom Menace (which has never been released for home video if I am not wrong).
In terms of somehow JW-related 3D content, I am aware of Solo, Rogue One and the final chapter of Harry Potter.
Is there anything else I am missing?

This theorem should prove that the standard cd sample rate is what you need to reproduce the actual sound wave and enything above it won't produce any improvement.

ciarlese reacted to Chen G. in Do you skip the Fox Fanfare when you start listening to the Star Wars scores?
Its in all six of the original films. In all of them except for the original, it was reorchestrated and rerecorded by Williams: it fits with his main titles, being that they're in the same tonality.
Therefore, I'd say that its a part of the score. Just because it wasn't composed by Williams... I mean, original compositions have incorporated pre-existing melodies since time immemorial.
