    What is now driving me insane is now that we know a live-action version from much of the same production team is coming... does that mean I am going to go ga-ga over a Dragon trilogy of scores ALL OVER AGAIN?

    Actually, maybe slightly off-topic but... I am actually not too excited for the live-action version. If it really is going to be the same director/writer and even composer... how much different could it really be? While on the surface it seems like a good thing much of the original team is tackling it, I feel like it makes it even more pointless? Unless they truly do make it darker. So a darker version of the score, too? Even then, I'd imagine it would go through pretty much all the same story beats and that just is weird to me. And a bit too soon, if I am being honest. The final film in the animated trilogy was only 4 years ago...

    Thanks for pointing this out! Came back here to ask when it would be back.

     

    I never got this set at the time because I was for whatever reason under the impression it was missing a lot of music, but I guess I misinterpreted that it just was missing the film edits (which makes sense not to have them since there would be so many, and not the original intentions). Also, I think I held off due to price (not complaining about it, just stating since it costs more I didn't want to shell it out at the time).

     

    Just saw the movie again in 3D the other day. Not that I needed reminding how amazing both the film and score are, but it made me think back on getting this set again. Next month happens to also be my birthday month so I think I know what I'll treat myself with... ;)

    I am surprised he hasn't tried to release an extended cut of Titanic like he did for Avatar (one extended cut in theaters, another even MORE extended cut on one of the Blu-Rays). But part of me is glad... the deleted scenes in Titanic are interesting on their own, but I think would break the flow if put back in. And definitely NOT that weird alternate ending that was done better on SNL, LOL.

     

    Quick thought: Do people like Titanic more than the Avatar movies, these days?

     

    I am not too excited about the HFR for Titanic, but I am stoked to see it in 3D again. I saw it that way in 2012, I believe, and will echo that it was really impressive for a 3D conversion (similar to how good Jurassic Park's was). I think timing it with Valentine's Day this time is honestly really smart. Although, hmm... is it actually a romantic movie? Or is it a better breakup movie? ;) Find out, won't you?

    I still see it as a bit of false advertising to have things in trailers that aren't in the final product. It has ALWAYS bothered me. While I know it's really not done on purpose for all the reasons people said, I still think it is false advertising nonetheless.

     

    For example, when Jurassic World: Dominion came out, even during the week of release, they kept showing the footage of the T-Rex roaring at the drive-in during an attack sequence. The entire scene was not in the theatrical film, which is what it was advertising for specifically. This isn't some Carl's Jr. Ad where it is advertising the burger more than the movie; its solely showing you "this is the movie". Only it's not an accurate portrayal if you are showing things not in it. So, it's false advertising.

     

    I am not saying it's worth suing millions of dollars over. But it has been a problem for a long time. Most people I don't think appreciate being false advertised with other things. Yeah, movies aren't cars. But trick enough people and you're still making millions of them collectively. I will agree though that the only people seemingly doing this on purpose is Marvel. If they don't want to spoil things in their trailers, there is a real easy solution: just don't show it.

    I am super late to this party, but I watched Rings Of Power all in one go over the course of 2 days recently and... I actually really liked it? And Bear's score was fantastic in it! I had 0 anticipation for this show at all, so maybe it was easier for me to not be disappointed like some were?

     

    Anyway, I actually REALLY like this song. Was it ever confirmed to be on the CD version? On Amazon it isn't on the tracklist but it is on the digital version. Maybe they just didn't update the site but the CD does indeed have it?

    Currently, The World Is Not Enough is my fave David Arnold "Bond" score. But I am intrigued to hear this expansion to see if I like it as much or more! I will say "Surrender" is an amazing song (as was Garbage's song in the latter score). What an insane thing to regulate it to the end credits instead of using it as the title song.

    Don't inspire him! There is still time for him to have an edit of the first half of the suite/credits be at the start of the album, then a repeat in the middle with the entire track, and then the second half at the end of the album that is just an edit of the end but call that the "credits" when the full version in the middle of the album actually is. HMM... does that sound FAMILIAR?
