You know 5 mins for me is about the limit for an interesting JW cue. I have figured for me the ideal length is 4'30'' especially for concert arrangements.

However the following are great IMO, despite their length:

1) Journey to the Island

2) Theme from Sabrina

3) T-rex Rescue and Finale

4) Farewell Neverland

5) Harry's Wondrous World

6) Making the List

7) The Banquet (concert arr.)

8) The Day We Fight Back (good one John )

9) Theme from The Patriot

10)The Journey to the Hanamachi (I love shakuhachi)

A pretty damned good cue over 5 mins., imHo, would be "Parting Ways" off of the Lost Vol. 1 cd. Very emotional stuff there, considering what is going on during the show at the time.

Aren't a lot of those tracks made up of cues from all over, not the cues themselves actually being long? I mean, I don't know, I just got that impression. I personally was also speaking of the quality of said long cues.

No, a suite is a cue compiled from other cues. Zimmer's long tracks are legit unless it's a suite or an end credits piece. And if you meant quality, first you should of said that, and second it doesn't matter because everyone has an opinion of what quality is.

Yeah, I guess you could call it a suite. Okay, so they are tracks that were originally scored that way. Gotcha.

Uh, yeah, that's why I posted it...it was my opinion...

The only ones I can think of currently...

Carbon Freeze/Darth Vader's Trap/Departure Of Boba Fett - Empire Strikes Back - John Williams

If you put together Moving Things Along and Anakin's Dark Deeds with the unreleased music in the middle (and at the end of course) you get one very satisfying near 10 minute sequence.

Ah, yes. I would say that was among the best of Williams's--and really Lucas's also--acheivements in the prequel trilogy. It's a fine sequence, both in a musical sense and a cinematic sense.
