Luke Skywalker 1,805
It's all a conspiracy.Lego and Concord did it on purpose so IJ fans couldn't get a clean rip of music that Concord excluded on purpose. Concord also chose the original takes of some cues because they knew Lego would include the versions fans wanted with noise, thus pissing JWFAN off even more. That joke has no place here you know.As i said, The Prequel game encripted the ogg files, some annoying 5 minutes of waiting after an already lenghty installation. That, i'm sure was made in the intent of preventing people rip the game (after what has happened with other games)Adding background noise to every music sound like it could be made for the same effect. Since usually SFX and music have sepparate files. And i'ts a Lucas company what we are talking about, yes i find the 'made on purpose' very feasible. And no it's a conspiracy because Map film version is there for us to enjoy. Pieter Boelen 740
I didn't purchase it yet but I BLOODY WELL AM TRYING TO!Unfortunately Internet purchases are always tricky, but especially so when you're on a cruiseship and your address is moving around a lot.Now if I were to order it online and sent to the cruiseship,I might actually be gone by the time it arrives.Alternatively, it'd have to be sent off to home,in which case I need to wait a month before being able to listen to it.Therefore I would want to buy it in an actual store. ManofDestiny 72
Last night, I back home and opened my set. I listen to the first half of Raider during having dinner and shower (which are very normal and nice activities when listening to the score, compare to some people in the thread). Than I listen to the first track of the TOD, LC and the 5th disc, to check the sound quality. There are some tape hiss in the Raider, I wonder if it is my illusion or phonism. The sound of TOD is perfect, I don't know how to describe it, it's crystal like, and very clean.Anyway, I listen to the Raider in the journey to work this morning, and I will listen to the TOD in the returning. The new track "Indy Rides the Statue" is my favorite new track. This action cue is just wonderful. The edited Desert Chase...... to someone who did not know the original full track very well such as me, I didn't notice the edit. The set is fine, even better then I expect after all. Though it could be even better.
Nick Parker 3,040
Alright, people. indy4 was correct: I was sick at the time of listening to "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom", according to my doctor. That I vomited at the climax of "Approaching the Stones" was a coincidence. Oh, and ManofDestiny: while you are mostly correct about not noticing the edits in "Desert Chase", there is one edit at 4:45 or so that is really obvious. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Ok had the set for a few days now.Good things:-The sheer amount of previously unreleased music in good quality.-Presentation, the box set looks neatBad things:-Still incomplete, especially considering there was room for more music.-The presentation of the set looks nice, but the booklets contain almost only photo's. No insighrs about the production of this set, no interviews.-The presentation of the music, editing and sequencing-wise is less then it could have been.-Flaws with the pitch (though I'm as yet not to bothered by it personally, I can fully see how this annoys the better hearing person.Overall I'm, fairly satisfied, but fully aware that if this set was done by Intrada, we would have gotten something far better.Even the non-soundtrack label Reprise Records did a far better and comprehensive job releasing the complete LOTR scores, also with input from it's composer.*** out of *****
Wojo 2,453
I was disappointed when I opened my set to find that the orange and white liner notes had been stuck into the box carelessly, so that when I removed it, its front cover was a creased, crinkled mess of paper. A plastic piece for disc 5 to snap into would have been nice, too, instead of a cardboard sleeve, but I may just swap its place with KOTCS, since I've already got it. That would've added, what, 3/8" thickness to the box?

Ollie 1,064
Uhh Steef said that, not me.This was done for Indiana Jones fans, regular soundtrack fans and the public. I told you in the past that if and when something like this was done it would come from a major label and not a soundtrack specialty one like FSM.So one could expect it to not be as thorough as what Intrada or FSM would do if they had a chance to release it. Charlie Brigden 7
I'm not talking about Howard Shore, I'm talking about LORD OF THE RINGS. You know, that little trilogy that came along a few years ago?Don't get me wrong, I love Indy and his music MORE than LOTR. But in the eye of the public... I'm not sure it's the same. I'd like to see sales figures, and it doesn't help that Indy has had a pretty lousy time with some of his OSTs (i.e. DOOM), but considering the smash both the LOTR films and soundtracks were, I think it'd go on LOTR's side. Also, LOTR has had an in-built fan base thirty years before Indiana Jones existed. Can of worms now open, I guess.

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
I doubt JW had any direct involvement with this setI'm pretty sure John Williams had a say regarding the placement of music, and what cues should be included.John Williams has always had input in the Bouzereau produced releases. This is the reason why Williams' edit of The Desert Chase was included, or why Alarm! follows Scherzo for Motorcycle. (i'm sure the idea behind that is that they wanted to introduce the theme with the Scherzo itself)This set reeks of John Williams influences. For some reason Lucasfilm and John Williams don't seem to think exapanded Star Wars or Indiana Jones scores sell well enough to go all out and release them as full-bore 2 CD, contains every note releases.
