Otherwise it's been a pretty dry few months (for me personally) at LLL - not too big a complaint, because that's just money in the bank for big releases that are coming up - B:TAS Vol 3, whatever John Williams or Elfman releases they have cooked up, any other surprises. Richard Penna 3,694
Probably go for Lair. I was never a huge fan of its less than subtle approach (orchestra and choir belting it out), but with a properly arranged presentation and sound quality, I can see there being some good stuff. crocodile

lonzoe 18
Great two more scores to add on long list of scores I'd like to own. Sometime down the road I plan on ordering The Unknown Known (once I see the film that is) and Dennis The Menace. Speaking of Goldsmith I still need to get Sum Of All Fears and Psycho II. Never seen Blue Max but heard great things about the score. I guess the record labels these past few months can't get enough of that Goldsmith and neither can I. One of the composer's best works and although it is almost as high octane and furious as his The Cutthroat Island there are more respites from the epic orchestral writing in between the action setpieces.Damn it is turning out another stellar year for the labels! publicist 4,643
While i have all i ever need from LAIR, i would buy this if the terribly hot digital sound from the iTunes release is somehow transformed into a more natural orchestral one.

publicist 4,643
It's better though still sounds too loud. But then Davis had to compete with a probably nauseating summer blockbuster so that may have been his way of dealing with it.
crocodile 8,017
He mentioned that was one of the loudest scores ever to be recorded at Fox and that he might have overdone things. publicist 4,643
It was a trend between in the early 2000's. Now the 'loud' scores like Zimmer/Tyler/JNH/Jablonsky somehow manage to let it sound softer - though 'natural timbre' remains a foreign word. Jay 37,368
Update from MV from the FSM forums I know that MV has said that we shouldn't expect many releases from the 50's or 60's from Lalaland. I hope GUNFIGHT AT THE OK CORRAL was a good seller for your label. With that in mind, can we expect anything soon from the decades 50's through 60's coming from Lalaland ? OK is doing great. Maybe 300 left. We had at least one Tiomkin ready to come out this spring but we hit a snag. Its working itself out slowly between the studio and the the other rights holder (ancient contracts). We hope to have it out this summer. We do have a couple of great classic tv shows we are currently working on. Later this year we hope to have out one incredible release that has been in the works for quite some time. In 2015 we will be exploring the WB catalog further with some wonderful golden age scores. Kritzerland pretty much has the monopoly on Golden Age scores from Fox and Paramount (the two fastest studios to work with regarding approvals) and they are doing a pretty good job on releasing those gems. Intrada is doing a wonderful job exploring the Disney and Universal catalogs. Our release schedule is constantly in flux so you never know what might be coming out. scallenger 483
I ordered Dennis The Menace from MovieMusic. Actually remember seeing the film the same year Jurassic Park came out and even remembered the score a bit, so it has that nostalgia factor for me. Never owned the OST but heard it elsewhere for the first time recently and liked it enough to get the LLL expansion. Seems like from the clips there were definitely some good bits left off (20 minutes worth, apparently). Now, the album versions of tracks included as bonus tracks, are they different arrangements/performances I wonder or just typical album edits? Probably the latter. Jay 37,368
Yup A funny thing kinda happened this week -- our 300th title came out and we didn't realize it! lol While it's catalog # is 1299, Stepford Wives is technically our 300th release because of the Star Trek TOS box set. That release is a special catalog# of 1701, so when you add that to the other 299 titles in our catalog you get 300! Oh, and for your "eagle eyes" out there you might notice a title we haven't announced yet. So happy 300 to us!
