Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,488
I agree with that one too. I'm going to add the Zubin Mehta SW/Close Encounters album due to its magnificent recording and powerhouse renditions of the finales of these great scores. And it came at a time, when Wiliams scores had become quite thrifty with instantly recognizable romantic melodies. And in the amazon reviews of his recent scores you could frequently read comments like "not as good as he used to be" or "he has run out of melodies". But this score was the proof, he had absolutely not run out of anything. Jay and Drew

How!) and I feel its appreciation has slowly grown ever since even though the movie has been completely forgotten The thing about the War Horse score to me that makes it so special, is that it was honest to god the first time in my life I went to see a movie in a theater where I was more interested in hearing the score than seeing the film. (Still love the film) Even when KOTCS came out, I wasn't really exclusively listening to John Williams the way I do now, but sometime after KOTCS and the release of the Concord set is when I really began to take in everything from JW.
