Yeah! And if it means more Shore scores, more PJ rants, and more complaints about how there's too many Tolkien threads clogging up the forum, who are we to complain?1 point -

HOOK's problems are not bad special effects. Remaking the story while staying far away from the leaden all-star bullshit of Spielberg's version would be the only solution. HOOK is unsalvageable.1 point -
Poll: Will Bombur Speak?
Bilbo reacted to #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal for a topic
I actually don't think they feel as different as some people here claim. A bit lighter yeah. But to be honest, LOTR was full of unlikely stunt and fight scenes. The action during the river scenes is no less over the top then Legolas killing an Oliphant and sliding to safety on his trunk, or ghost radiating a green glow sweeping across an entire army....1 point -

But you don't disagree with my points? The orcs in LOTR weren't very threatening, overall. The Fellowship killed hundreds of them, with great ease.1 point -

If Star Trek V wasn't allowed to get updated special effects, I don't think Hook should. But it might be time to update Star Wars again.1 point

Older film score fans vs New film score fans
Dixon Hill reacted to Once for a topic
I'm 19. I think I'm just a fan of music in general. I enjoy the Beatles and Amy Winehouse as much as I enjoy Herrmann and Morricone. I like Coldplay and Tchaikovsky. John Barry and Johnny Cash. Tom Jones, Norah Jones, Danny Elfman, Gnarls Barkley. It depends on the mood I'm in. I don't put the music I like in categories, I just like what I like. In my world Williams is the master of them all, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy pop music. Now I'm gonna go listen to Let It Be followed by In Search of Unicorns.1 point -

There is a lot of Saruman in the last film apparently, sounds very interesting! A lot of Saruman action in it with fighting & swordplay according to Christopher Lee. He hopes that he is alive to see it. Around 7.00 The video is three days old.1 point -
Sadly, I think that's probably true of many films. I imagine good, very good, or even great scripts and dailies are turned into hacky movies more often than we might think.1 point
