Here’s a comment I made back when we were discussing this:

Since then, I’m even more certain that Ross did the Obi/Vader duel. In addition to his “adapting” credit, in episode 4 he also got an “additional music” credit. The music for the Obi-Wan hallway fight both felt very Star-Wars-y, and included JW’s Obi-Wan theme. All you need to assume Ross did it is the presence of the Obi-Wan theme, but the cue goes well beyond that theme, and also features orchestration (and sound mix/orchestra performance) that sounds just like the Obi/Vader duel in the previous episode. And again, as I said in my linked comment and as @Luke Skywalker said above, there is music in that duel that resembles Ross’ Tale of Despereaux score.

According to the Hal Leonard piano arrangement (currently available on SheetMusicDirect), the theme shifts between 2/2, 4/4, and 6/8.

You could also add his age in there.  Not joking, he's a motivation for me to stay healthy, and keep the mind healthy as an exemplar of getting every drop of enjoyment out of life without your physical limits dragging you down.   He's definitely inspiring in his grace and kindness.  Seems like the kind of guy who would take a lot to loose his cool.  (Looking at you, America, the Dream Goes On).  I love that he is humble and articulate, graceful and kind.... everything you would want him to be.  His persona is precisely the humanity that you hear in his music, and that's really really cool.  I consider myself a work in progress, and I'd like to think I'm moving towards trying to keep calm and be like Johnny.

Role model?  Definitely.  Live a long healthy life, and make yourself and others happy with what you put out there.

I'm surprised the cinematographer manages to get any shots of Obi-Wan at all, with the sheer amount of times he's running away in this show.

Do you know what I did to other composers in the 90s?

I tore Alex apart with my bare hands, 1991.

Aaron I stabbed in the gut in 1990.

    Georges, same thing, 1992.

Him I let live, because he doesn't speak English.

And André, too, because he wasn't interested in Hollywood anymore.

Lennie I stabbed in the neck, also 1990. - In the neck!? - With a Bleistift, ja, ja.

And then I went back to Steven, and he showed me his film, and I said to him: "I really think you need a better composer than I am for this film."

That's the Obi-wan from the prequels, our Obi-wan has clearly fallen far from his best.

Nah, it wouldn't have saved the scene. In fact, the imperial march would have been indelibly ruined if it had been used there.

I liked Obi-wan et Leia's interactions better in this episode, especially their undercover stint on the truck and Obi-wan opening up about his family. And wait, he said that he wishes Leia were his daughter, is that supposed to mean that he regrets not having children of his own, or that he was in love with Padme ?

Vader looked a little wrong in television format, and A LOT wrong in that first scene on Mustaphar. That was horribly done. You don't reintroduce an iconic character like this with a boring business phone call.
The voice was good though, so that was that.

I appreciate and respect that they are sticking to an unheroic and out of his depth Obi-wan, but that means his character arc better resolve with some sparks...

This quote from The Guardian's review summed it up for me:

"One of the very first scenes shows characters slaving away in the desert, earning a pittance by scraping scraps of meat from a giant, long-dead carcass. This is either a complete coincidence, or someone at Disney+ is a little more self-aware than they should be."

eitam got a reaction from Fabulin in What are your thoughts on John Williams' new theme for Obi-Wan?
I'm particularly fond of the 3 notes build-up at the end of the theme (especially the string-heavy arrangement at 3:30 in the single). It's so simple and effective, both tragic and hopeful. It reminds me musically and spiritually of the last phrase of Rey's Theme, which in a way makes sense given that Obi-Wan and Rey are pretty much in the same situation when we meet them: alone in the desert, eating instant meal while watching the sun...

I should start by saying that on Last Fm, I have more plays on the theme than anyone else in the world and it's only been 2 days.

Obi-Wan is my favorite character in all of fiction so I've been waiting for him to get a proper theme for years. When I heard John was gonna do it, I nearly teared up. My expectations were high.

I'm the kind of girl who vibes with music rather easily, but this was something else. I first heard it from a leaked video of the live performance from Celebration. But hearing the official recording, my heart flew a thousand miles per hour after listening to it. With film music, this has only happened to me 3 times; The first two being when I heard Rey's Theme and The Adventures of Han for the first time. Everything about Obi-Wan's Theme just clicks for me and I haven't gotten tired of it at all despite the obscene amount of times I've heard it already.

I learned on Friday that John Williams said he intends to retire from film scoring after he finishes The Fabelmans and Indiana Jones. If he follows through, this theme is his official good bye to the franchise. And it's one hell of a good bye at that. My favorite piece of Star Wars TV music by far.
Fr. I don't see any problem with him writing this quickly. It's not like he's scoring the entire show. Plus he just started working on The Fabelmans and is STILL working on Indiana Jones. We're lucky he made this at all.
