Bayesian got a reaction from Stark in Happy 91st birthday Maestro!
91 and going as strong as ever. We are so lucky to be on the receiving end of such munificence.
The best part is that JW isn’t toiling away in obscurity or rushing to get down on paper as much as possible before he dies. He’s already given the world the fruits of the labor of two or three men and has nothing left to prove. Everything he’s done from Vienna and Berlin onward has seemed like a victory lap. It’s absolutely rarefied territory he operates in now and no one else in his field is ever going to reach it.

@Junion and me finally sold the Discography to JWFAN, so now we are rich and we can retire!

Rambling Records is finally releasing soon the score album for Eiffel, french movie that came out in 2021.
https://www.facebook.com/RamblingRECORDS/posts/720412043131746
I was so disappointed to see there was no way to listen to the music when I watched the movie last year... but fortunately a japanese label is handling the release (they did the same for Coupez! last summer, another french movie).
Snippet from the Eiffel score I extracted from the film audio:

Bayesian reacted to Thor in Happy 91st birthday Maestro!
Amazing to think that he has a whole slew of concerts lined up in 2023 (including one in Japan!), a tentpole movie score (INDY 5) and other bits and bobs for the concert scene. When my grandfather was 91, he had been dead for 6 years! So incredible stamina. Happy birthday to my alltime favourite composer!
A few months more, and he's surpassed Morricone in terms of sheer activity at 91.

Bayesian reacted to pete in John Williams to conduct at the 2023 Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival in Matsumoto, Japan (Sept. 2, 2023)
Oh September 2 is a Saturday, and I'm not too far away in Seoul. No idea how hard tickets will be to get, but I'll try! and I'm not working the week before.

Bayesian reacted to Thor in Ridley Scott's NAPOLEON (Martin Phipps, 2023)
I couldn't find a previous, separate thread on this, and I feel like it deserves its own. It's one of the tentpole pictures of 2023 that I look forward to the most.
I was thrilled when Martin Phipps was recently announced as composer, as posted by Jay on FSM via a tweet on Moviescore Wire:
I first discovered Phipps through his excellent BRIGHTON ROCK in 2010. Since then -- or even prior to that -- he's specialized in stories about history or royal families. All good stuff, whether it's THE CROWN, VICTORIA, THE VIRGIN QUEEN or the Princess Diana HBO documentary THE PRINCESS, which was on my top 10 list of 2022.
So in theory an excellent fit for this project.

Bayesian reacted to enderdrag64 in enderdrag64's Star Wars Spreadsheet Index
Here's a collection of spreadsheets I've been working on over the last few months. Not all of these are complete yet, and I plan on making more but I figured I might as well share them.
I was really disappointed that there seemed to be no proper breakdown of all the prequel cues across the various videogames on the internet, only snippets of information in the two Prequel Music Resource threads on here (which are also insane long to dig through), plus some excellent-for-the-time but now outdated editing guides by @deleted account and @Trent B. There's also of course the fantastic sheet accurate score edits by @Manakin Skywalkerbut from everything I've read I don't believe there are accompanying spreadsheets for them. As a result of not finding what I was looking for I decided to make them myself:
These first four are breakdowns of the complete scores similar to @Jay's spreadsheets (sidenote: I borrowed your formatting from your ROTJ spreadsheet, hopefully you don't mind I did credit you) but with columns for all of the videogame files (at least the ones I've analyzed so far):
The Empire Strikes Back (link)
The Phantom Menace (link)
Attack of the Clones: (link)
Revenge of the Sith: (link)
The Force Awakens (link)
The rest of these are breakdowns of every file for each of the videogames that I've gotten to:
TPM Game (link)
Ep I Racer: (link)
Ep I Insider's Guide: (link)
Ep I Jedi Power Battles: (link)
Star Wars Galaxies: (link)
Star Wars Battlefront II: (link)
I also made a fork of cheetordude's SWTOR Music Index (from this reddit post) where I've made some of the information more accurate (filled in cues that weren't identified, corrected inexact titles, corrected entries that listed one cue that were actually an edit of multiple, things like that). This is still very much a work in progress (link)
One last thing I made a complete breakdown of the TPM Ultimate Edition. I decided I wasn't going to deal with the tracks bleeding into each other bullshit so I based all of my timestamps off of the combined tracks instead of the individual ones like they're presented on the disc. As a result my spreadsheet accounts for 24 combined tracks as opposed to 68 separate ones (link)
I'm going to try to keep this thread updated as I make new spreadsheets/major updates

It feels nice to be feeling cautiously optimistic about a Superman movie, even if the only reason as of now is that Snyder is no where near it.

☑️ People flying
☑️ People falling
☑️ People flying catching people falling
☑️ People smashing people into walls
☑️ People getting smashed into walls
☑️ Electric bolts of electric magic being shot at people
☑️ Said bolts being deflected
☑️ Shots of people landing in "hero" stance
☑️ Heroes "assembling" shot
☑️ Villains emerging from rifts in the sky/ground
☑️ Villain in voice-over saying ominous/threatening things
☑️ Cars being thrown & overturned (cars MUST be thrown)
☑️ Scary looking CGI creatures doing CGI things
☑️ Third act massive destruction in major metropolitan city by scary looking CGI creatures doing CGI things and people flying around, falling, smashing into walls, throwing cars and sending magic electric bolts. Extras fleeing.
☑️ Sly pop-culture reference. Occasional quip/snarky humour to let us know we just don't take any of this as seriously as you do. Now, seriously give us your Dollars, Pounds, Euro, Yen & Yuan!
Rinse & repeat. And don't forget to put your phone on silent.

Bayesian reacted to Naïve Old Fart in The DCU - DC Universe
Give us us sequel!
It may be sassy, and it might even be better than the original (I don't know; I haven't watched it), but it doesn't appear to offer anything you haven't seen or heard, many, too many, times before. Apart from making a shit load of moolah, I honestly question why these kind of films are continuing to be made. Redundant and desensitizing, it, and the other films DCEU/MCU films before it, are cinematic dross.

Bayesian got a reaction from Jay in New Williams interview on Gramophone magazine
My copy arrived, finally! I took pics of the relevant pages and resized them to keep the text legible while also shrinking their file size. The entire issue looks like a great read -- the folks at Gramophone did a fantastic job, as usual.
There are several articles that feature or discuss JW, which means a lot of pics to upload. I'll break it up over two or three posts.
Next batch of pics...
And final batch. Enjoy!
