When hearing Raiders March and Short Round's Theme, nobody in their right mind would think "yeah, let's counterpoint these!". But the crazy bastard somehow made it work. In two different ways.

Does this flute bit at the beginning remind anyone else of “Luke and Leia”? Try to sing it and hear how it sounds without harmony.

This bit with Yoda's Theme is so cool! Love the "bizarre" string accompaniment from 6:07.

It's actually not that far off from this throwaway little fanfare he wrote for TLJ.

Return of the Jedi still acts as the end, without it having to be the final nail in the proverbial coffin.

I would love that to be true and for filmmakers to have that restraint and control and be willing to say 'enough is enough'. The primary concern of the filmmaker should be to tell a good story and make what they want, not fall to the whims and trends of consensus.

I just registered on these forums and saw that there was an AOTS thread! I'm one of the co-hosts (Andrew Pogson). Sorry our TFA episodes were so delayed. I had a new kid at the end of last year and so editing duties went by the wayside. We're fairly back on board now though.

Loving the discussions, compliments and criticisms of the show. Always helps us create better episodes as we go along. Thanks for tuning in!

No no this needs to end where it all began. A Trade Federation ship, some Neimoidians, and a perfectly legal blockade situation.

How about we wait and watch the bloody movie first?

with such sheer demonstrations of the First Order military might like the scene where there's so many Star Destroyers that they literally blot out the sky, I wouldn't be surprised if Williams wrote some kind of new theme or march for the First Order.

Maybe we were mistaken all along! It's not Don Williams, brother of famed composer John Williams, but the brother of some composter named Jon. Was this the same composter who composted Schindler's List? I really should ask him about pruning my hedges.

I find no mention of new material/themes to be worrisome.

The whole album is unintentionally hilarious. They somehow managed to turn the end credits from ESB in to something from a comedy. Get a load of their Superman disco cover too!

Definitely not the same London Philharmonic that went on to record LOTR.

Maybe it's 'cause I've been in a funk for the last hour or so, and watched the trailer in this period, but...

I don't know, watching this trailer reminded me how much I dislike most modern television aesthetics, and only upon watching this has the worry struck that this show will be molded in that, especially if they get a Jeff Russo type to score it. I hope there's more levity in how they handle the plot and all that than the trailer lets on, because if the plot is indeed the Chosen One With the Key to the Universe, I think it will need some whimsy and romance (think the more quiet and contemplative renditions of Ilia's Theme, tonally).

In other words, while yes I want the show to capture the more meditative and introspective aspects of what the concept practically has by birth, and the franchise as a whole, I _do_ also want to see a twinkle in its eye, a feeling of adventure as it hints at when it shows Picard getting with a younger crew.

Also, am I the only one who thinks Data looks _really_ weird?

Also also, damn Jeri Ryan is fine.

    I'll offer some criticism.

Gee, the storyline is that a young girl with magic powers is here to save the universe. Where have I seen this before...in everything now? One thing this series absolutely did not need is a chosen one story but then, there it is.
