There we go, my video about the themes of Dune is finally up. It's been done for about a month but was a real pain in the ass to get past copyright claims. I hope you enjoy!
 

I'm quietly hopeful once we pass the 20 year threshold from the stupid cutoff date, the AFM will be more open to granting waivers to scores older than 20 years.
 
If that came to pass, we could theoretically get Munich and Memoirs next year.

I just found out Elfman will be making his first ever convention appearance this year. He will be at Fan Expo Dallas this June 7-9 (he’ll be there on Saturday only). Sam Raimi will also be there Saturday and Sunday.

Minority Report with a JG score could be nice. Same thing for War of the Worlds.

I listened to the track above and also some tracks from Godzilla x Kong on YouTube and eh... Holkenborg's style is not for me. But I did like the synth parts of GxK, made me wish the score was entirely electronic.
 
He should pursue other kinds of genres besides just action movies that require his trademark brass BWAAAAAAMS and drums. Three Thousand Years of Longing was a step in the right direction.

It's a bit of a shame they got Holkenborg to score these.

Star Wars is about a group or rebels fighting against the empire that's killing the millions of people. Dune is about a protagonist who sets out on a path that will lead to the killing of millions of people by his hands.
 
 
It's more focused, yes. It relies much more heavily on story and characters over spectacle than I was afraid it might. The battles are there, but they never get in the way of the story or pacing.

If its a theme park ride, its a damn depressing one, which kinda defeats the purpose of a theme park ride.
 
The film ends with the promise of the blood of billions on the hands of the protagonist. Its actually one of the reasons I'm having a hard time warming up to this second film: I'm all for Greek Tragedy and finding catharsis in a tragic ending, but usually the tragedy entails the protagonist and those around him. Kinda hard to feel catharsis when its the fate of billions of bystanders that are consigned to death and destruction.
 
But I definitely wouldn't call it a theme park ride.

I'm not sure, I'm not that interested in prequels (with a few exceptions) and I hated Junkie XL's score for the previous movie so I can only imagine he'll double down on drums and horns of doom (all 450 of them). 

Yeah, for all Balfe scored films, for starters.

Zack Snyder:
Watchmen; Dawn of the Dead; Zack Snyder's Justice League; Man of Steel; 300; Theatrical Justice League (even though most of that was Whedon); Batman v Superman; Legend of the Guardians; Army of the Dead; Sucker Punch Haven't seen (nor I intend to see) Rebel Moon.

I think because the delivery was whiny, so it came across more pathetic than smooth (pun intended), also it just kinda sounds like a weird, lame pickup line rather than an attempt at connecting to her, especially cause he rubs up against her in a way that most would consider creepy, especially since she shows no emotion in her face, making her look uncomfortable.

Maybe. I'm still waiting on a release of Elfman's Woman in the Window three years later...

Looking forward to the Händelverse!

As much as I like their Marvel work, everything they did after that was really bad. There's that generic and forgettable spy movie with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans that cost Netflix $200 million and that Amazon show that was also uber-expensive and no one watched it.
 
Still, looking forward for the Silvestri score.

And he's right: the whole conspiracy to make the Clone Wars happen makes no sense and it's dumb as fuck.

4/10. The only thing I like about it is the great (and Harry Potter-like) John Williams score. The rest... eh.
 
ROTS is the only movie from the prequels I actually like, even though the memes are still the best thing about it.

It's nice to see Silvestri working again with the Russos after the Avengers movies.
