I advise caution with being an arm chair mastering engineer, especially if you weren't in the mastering session. Boosting and limiting was not part of the process on this release. I'm not sure what you're trying to gain here. As most have noted, everything sounds perfectly fine. If you yourself admit everything sounds fine and you're just guessing at the process, is this merely an academic discussion with no practical value?  Not sure what the purpose is here.  Although it looks like one person decided not to purchase it based on your comments. 
There are no stand alone 6-track music only mixes at this point.  

A very good recording of the complete score as written by Herrmann but it judiciously cut down in the film that Herrmann had them forced to remove his name from the credits.

That took a while for Herrmann to conduct this cue for this album [UNICORN Release] . Apparently the initial performance was way too slow. Herrmann attempted again and it was still slow. At this point he gave up and asked a collegue (Raksin or some one, I cant rememebr who exactly) to conduct it. That version was the right tempo and its then then Herrmann sort of woke up and reconducted this cue at the current pace. In my opinion its is still slow but Herrmann probably wanted to take it at a leisurly pace since the film was not being timed to here. As a indpendent inititaive it still works fine although it does take some time to get used to. I liek the overall nuance to it. One of my favourites.
 
The Elfman-Bartek recording is the superior version to date. The recording techniques  and the conducting is superb. I wish someone would release the whole recording someday. Maybe LLL...

Thanks for the explanation! I have the Bremner Magnificent Ambersons, but not the Citizen Kane album. I think the current ones I have are good enough, unless this is really worth picking up? I'll have to give the Magnificent Ambersons another listen though, I don't know that one at all (but feel I ought to).

Mine was sat at Heathrow from Thursday - Sunday (some sort of quaranteen maybe?). I thought I was going to receive it in record time when I got the notification on Thursday to say it was in the UK. Still not bad though to have it 7 days after ordering.

Sure, but the 5.1 mix created in 2000 for the film was created from a transfer of the exact same analog element than the 2013 transfers used to make the 2015 CD were.
 
To be more clear:
 
The music was performed in 1975 and the master recording of every take was stored as a 3 channel mix on analog tape.

That tape sat rotting in a vault until 2000 when the guys at Universal Pictures made a digital transfer of it so that they could have the music in the new 5.1 mix not be mono, and someone got the idea to fold that mix down to stereo and sell it on CD and that's how we got the Decca CD.
 
That tape was put back in the vault until 2013 when they pulled it out and gave it a fresh digital transfer, and Mike built the 2015 Intrada CD from that transfer.

Then why is Shawn mentioned as the Soundtrack Reissue Engineer??? I know Bouzereau is the executive producer of this set. Also both Eric Tomlinson and John Neal are clearly mentioned as to their roles in the original recordings.

some of you maybe know my youtube channel martyprod2 where i posted around 80 Tv pro video of john wlliams conducting all kind of stuff, including his own music (or not).
Some parts of my collections come from myself, and some from someone very nice from here..

I Just started to remaster each video one by one in Full HD, Widescreen, pictures improved upscaled and cleaned, colors eventually reworked and a bit of new color gradding, and sound normalized (my hearing illness actually forbidd me to do more than that for now). I take this opportunity to post the stuff that i have in my collection and didn't posted yet, like this one, and which is the first one to be remastered. For the videos already posted, for the ones with few comments, i'll erase them and they will be replaced by their remastered version, and for the ones who have lot of comments, i'll let them online and will post the remastered version next to it.

New for this coming week are two pretty big releases, both expanded and remastered editions of great James Horner and Jerry Goldsmith albums. The Land Before Time includes both major cues Horner dropped from the original MCA release, totaling 15 minutes of new music. The Last Castle offers the complete score plus alternates, and remains one of my Goldsmith favorites: military all the way, Malcolm McNab’s solo trumpet in the spotlight. Artwork, contents and sound samples should be posted here early in the week.

If I were to choose ONE soundtrack above all. It would be this. Period.

Strange as it is, I just read about one of the child voice actors yesterday, who was  sadly a homicide victim at age 10. The girl voiced Ducky (Yep Yep Yep)
