You can clearly see that it's not sealed. It has no more value in a shrink-wrapped vault than on somebody's iPod.

If we all pitch in a couple bucks, we could keep it in the family, so to speak.

Hmmmmm......I thought the whole "FYC" CD thing had had the mockers put on it a couple of years ago?

There is another 18 track FYC promo on Ebay as well, with track listings.... Jason, how sure are you of the legitimacy of the 3 disc?? I am thinking about placing a monstrous bid.

I would love to get the entire score, if only for most of the action/battle music, which was really trimmed down on the CD release, sadly. Especially for the climax, I thought.

I'll bet it was put on three CDs to make the work seem longer and more substantial, and thus more deserving of the award.

I hope the voters dont fall for that...

UP has to win the oscar... :)

It would be interesting to hear this.

Couldn't it technically fit on 2 CDs?

Ya it can, not sure why it was divided up as 3-CD's.

They pressed it on 3-D(iscs) to enhance the experience ;)

Well now we just have to wait for a little while and this will be on the internet. :) I would not mind hearing more music as I thought Horner served his usual material in a particularly interesting way with Avatar.

I only really want the full length film version of 'War', particulary the music heard after the "Eywa has heard you" scene. I think the ost already covers a great deal of the other highlights.

Yes, this section and the early action cue when Jack is separated from the rest. And throw in some "source" (though not exactly) music from the scene when they try to save Weaver's character (church-like singing) and I'll be happy. :)

just a thought about why 3cds:

Horner usually makes big tracks (ie 10 minutes)

maybe if split only in 2cds one of those long tracks gets in the middle and therefore, if it's put on disc 1 its more than 80 min and same with cd 2.

Ooooh, it's soooooooo tempting to post something like "Guys, the complete Avatar score is already available, the CDs have just been cunningly retitled as "Glory" and "Titanic" and..."

... but I will refrain from officially posting anything sarcastic like that. :)

(Kinda surprised no one else has yet, too.)

The original album is fine, but what it lacks is the resolution. There is practically no music from the end of the picture, apart from the the of the War track.

Several years ago, I posted a clip from Schumann's 3rd symphony on April 1st and claimed it was from an expanded release of Willow. I think a few people fell for it.

Yes and much of the music from the end of the movie is really good stuff. Having seen the movie (or its highlights) a good few times via a good screener, I would say some of the very best bits of the score are absent from the ost. But I could live with just getting the Eywa cue, from this promo.

It's not the second coming of film music, but there are enough worthwile soundscapes and melodic touches (apart from the terrible tribe chanting stuff) to make it a worthwile experience. And 147 minutes must include yet unreleased stuff which may offer some surprises.

I find it very disappointing that the obvious demand for this music is being used as a mega-money-making activity, especially since whoever's selling it clearly got it free.

But yes, I hope it leaks soon.

I just entered 1000$

hope this item will be mine... :)

Hehe, you're funny.

... right?

What if it was a complete Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone promo?

We all know there's complete versions for the first three potters with out sfx, it's been confirmed but doubt they'll leak.

First three? hmm. I only knew about the first two.

I would say "in a year or two" but next year is the 10th anniversary, and the optimist in me says maybe WB will do something special.
