#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,913 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I cannot picture John drinking beer. He is rather sophisticated, so maybe he's a wine- person.Actually, the thought of JW drinking any kind of hard booze seems wrong somehow. maybe he's a cocktail man rather then a guy who drinks a straight Bourbon.Hmmm...John Williams drinking a Cosmopolitan. or is that too James Horner?
Andy 7,245 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 From the Close Encounters liner notes:"He taught me about underrated Russian composers and good German wines, and I taught him how to pace the hallways and how to eat junkfoods." - Steven Spielberg
Xander Harris 9,216 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Blue Milk, Butterbeer and Belloq's family label, of course. But he never drinks when he flies.
Andy 7,245 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 By that logic, Horner (and Eidelman) drink Romulan Ale?
Xander Harris 9,216 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I thought Romulan Ale was illegal.
Datameister 2,561 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Wonderful stuff, that Romulan ale.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I bet he drinks Alan Silvestri's wine.
Andy 7,245 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I got a pack of this once.It turned my teeth blue.
Jim 6,187 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Kestrel Super Strength. He drinks Kezzy Super.
Dean1700 5 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 This thread would have to rank as one of the most ridiculus threads ever. Why not start a thread about what toilet paper he uses at the same time?
Jim 6,187 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 We already did that a while back. He uses KittenSoft.
Dean1700 5 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I stand corrected.It IS the most ridiculous thread ever.
BurgaFlippinMan 7 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Wonderful stuff, that Romulan ale.a D+ on Beeradvocate.com suggests otherwise.http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/92/4681
Luke Skywalker 2,334 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I suppose he has tried this one:From the Close Encounters liner notes:"He taught me about underrated Russian composers and good German wines, and I taught him how to pace the hallways and how to eat junkfoods." - Steven SpielbergGood German wines?I though all good wines only came from the mediterranean region...and France
Naïve Old Fart 12,742 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 When you are a struggling, 31-year-old film director, with one flop one mega-hit, and a film that has gone $10,000,000 over budjet, even Thunderbird, or Blue Nun tastes good. Besides, we all know that our Steve can't handle his drink...Witness the Steve McQueen/bar room affair.
Marian Schedenig 11,409 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 I though all good wines only came from the mediterranean region...and France I'm generally not a wine drinker, but there are good wines from Austria. Don't know about Germany though.Perhaps Williams drinks Silvestri's wines?
Thor 9,337 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 What, have you guys seriously not heard about the Riesling grape, one of the most famous wine types anywhere!?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RieslingI love myself a Riesling now and then.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,913 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 So John Williams drinks Liebfraumilch????
gkgyver 1,647 Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 Good German wines - the man has taste!
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Perhaps Williams drinks Silvestri's wines?I bet he drinks Alan Silvestri's wine.
Xander Harris 9,216 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So that's what he's been up to. It's certainly not been composing good music.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Perhaps his music isn't so good because he's been drinking too much of his wine!
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I cannot picture John drinking beer. If you take a look at the pic of JW in the Sound of Glory/Summon the Heroes CD booklet (the one with Tim Morrison), isn't that a tall, cold glass of beer in John's hand?http://mahawa.jw-music.net/images/class/murphy.jpg
Marian Schedenig 11,409 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Whops, missed that up there. If you take a look at the pic of JW in the Sound of Glory/Summon the Heroes CD booklet (the one with Tim Morrison), isn't that a tall, cold glass of beer in John's hand?http://mahawa.jw-music.net/images/class/murphy.jpgFor a beer glass that's rather small. Also... I hadn't looked at that picture in years, last time was before I learned that Murphy is one handed. Now I notice they're covering that up rather skillfully...
Naïve Old Fart 12,742 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 So that's what he's been up to. It's certainly not been composing good music.Perhaps his music isn't so good because he's been drinking too much of his wine! You're both gonna go straight to Hell, for that one.
Ollie 1,365 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 I've been looking for Silvestri's wine but they only ship to select states, Texas is not one of them. Plus it appears to only be available in Ca. locations for direct purchases. The Mrs. is a wine "connoisseur", I prefer to call her a consumer.
Luke Skywalker 2,334 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 the photo i posted is Lucas' wine made and sold by Coppola's wine cellar from Skywalker ranch's grapes.anyone noticed?
Wojo 2,458 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Don't feel bad, Mark. Wine of any type cannot be imported into Pennsylvania. I can't even buy the deals at Wine Woot. I have to go to a state store for my wines.

I have to go to a state store for my wines. Most of the cities in our county were dry, but within the past 5 - 7 years that has thankfully ended. Now liquor stores are popping up in the new malls. Plus wine is carried in most supermarkets here.We had a new liquor store open with an a impressive wine selection from all over the world.the photo i posted is Lucas' wine made and sold by Coppola's wine cellar from Skywalker ranch's grapes.anyone noticed? I've seen Coppola's wine in stores locally.
Naïve Old Fart 12,742 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Has anyone ever drank Sam Neill's wine?
Wojo 2,458 Posted September 2, 2010 Posted September 2, 2010 Has anyone ever drank Sammy Hagar's tequila?
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 If you take a look at the pic of JW in the Sound of Glory/Summon the Heroes CD booklet (the one with Tim Morrison), isn't that a tall, cold glass of beer in John's hand?http://mahawa.jw-music.net/images/class/murphy.jpgFor a beer glass that's rather small. Also... I hadn't looked at that picture in years, last time was before I learned that Murphy is one handed. Now I notice they're covering that up rather skillfully...Hmmm, yes, the glass is rather small. Still, that looks like beer--I've always assumed it was, anyway.
Koray Savas 2,259 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 It looks like it has ice in it. Who puts ice in beer?
Josh500 1,620 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 I don't see any ice. That's his hand!
Naïve Old Fart 12,742 Posted September 3, 2010 Posted September 3, 2010 Has anyone ever drank Sammy Hagar's tequila? That's a joke right, and my favourite Chinese meal is the cream of sum yun guy. Hold on, just logging on to wikip- SWEET MOTHER OF ALL THAT'S SACRED AND PROFOUND. He owns a tequila business!!!!!!!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,913 Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 Don't feel bad, Mark. Wine of any type cannot be imported into Pennsylvania. I can't even buy the deals at Wine Woot. I have to go to a state store for my wines. Why is wine banned from Pennsylvania?Even during prohibition in the 30's wine was not complately outlawed, because of it's use in Religious Ceremonies.
Luke Skywalker 2,334 Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 maybe they cannot import it, to improve local wine sales?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 11,913 Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 Pennsylvania-wines?I doubt they can compete with the classics from the Rhone Valley, or Napa...
pixie_twinkle 60 Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 John Williams used to drink Chuck Norris's blood, but these days it isn't strong enough for him. Not Mr. Big 1
Xander Harris 9,216 Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Langella in that movie. I'm a straight dude and I find him attractive. When he first enters the room and tosses his cape, then makes a beeline for the first chicks he sees. I wish I could be that sexy.
coan29001 0 Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 What about Poire Williams? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poire_Williams
Bespin Copilot 10,579 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 I don't know what John Williams is drinking, but he must try a Coruscant Cooler!
Bayesian 1,589 Posted April 28, 2023 Posted April 28, 2023 If memory serves, it was mentioned in another thread here that JW enjoys Johnnie Walker Blue Label. Andy 1
