Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Spoilers:When the T-Rex and the raptor have that moment at the end of the fight, didn't anyone else think that brass statement sounded like Goldsmith's so-called "adversity theme" from Star Trek V and the TNG movies? Unlucky Bastard 7,782
The next film needs to be a crossover with Star Trek where Kirk and crew need to travel back in time and pick up two T-rexes, bring them forward in time, drop 'em off, and tell this doomsday probe what to go do with itself.Cappuccino's easiest scoring gig. Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Then a new stand alone film is made, set in the 23rd century, where the Federation allocates an uninhabited Class M planet to be a new biological reserve for dinosaurs. The Federation will call it Jurassic Planet, where it will breed dinosaurs to be shown to people and aliens from across the quadrant. But through innovative 23rd century technology, new super intelligent velociraptors are bred, who are not only fierce killing machines, but also take time out to contemplate their existence and engage in their search for the "Creator".These raptors begin an uprising on Jurassic Planet, where dinosaurs begin turning on the planet administators and eat the tourists. And the raptors manage to hijack a starship, which leads to an epic showdown with other starfleet vessels.

crumbs 14,319
Well I liked the soundtrack, felt it fit the movie perfectly. My first listen of the OST, I felt the music had a real lull after the first 20 minutes, but I've come around to it. Lots of fun moments scattered throughout, especially the fun percussive rhythm at the start of 'Chasing the Dragons'.All the themes are memorable in their own way, and the family theme made a real impact in the film itself (on my first listen). mstrox 6,651
Outside of Speed Racer and Super 8, I've had quite a few years of Giacchino indifference/burnout, but I've really enjoyed Jurassic World and Jupiter Ascending this year. Can't think of a piece I've enjoyed as much as "As the Jurassic World Turns" in some time. Hopefully Inside Out and Tomorrowland are equally good, whenever I get around to picking them up. Giftheck 917
A full listen for me and the score grew on me. I'm not familiar with Giacchino's Lost World game score, so I can't say how much it references, but there were some nice little touches to Williams' themes. I thought the Lost World quote in "Our Rex Is Bigger Than Yours" worked quite well. I just regret that no full presentation of Giacchino's theme, or of the full Williams theme, was present on the OST. I'm also wondering if Jurassic World Suite is just several cues edited together, ALA the Matrix Reloaded Suite.
Jay 37,378
It's definitely 12 of the 18 minutes of suite material her wrote before the film cues. It's not film cue edited together.

Luke Skywalker 1,796
Yeah, but at release week, in amazon spain there were alot of dealers (all based in the uk or US, and cheaper, around 15 €), now, there is none. Only amazon for like 24 €.I should have bought it when i could :/So i think this score is getting good sales, and many stires are out of stock, because the production company didnt think they would sell so much.... i hope it gets widespread again... This was going to be my birthday present from my girlfriend but there is no way i'm going to let her spend twice the money it should cost... It's a strange quirk that some people have to just drift through a soundtrack listening to old themes quoted rather than listening to everything and forming an informed opinion. It's a bit like watching the Doom E3 video and not taking anything in apart from "Oh, look, the door sounds just like the original Doom's doors". Incanus 5,716
I don't think my opinion of this score improved much after seeing the film. The military Marlboro Men march for the InGen military/security and D'Onofrio's scenery chewing "Look at me I am a villain!" bad guy was the best part of the score and I would have liked to hear more of it on the album.
