Those tracks that never fail to give you goose bumps

Or rather specific moments in them...

Y'know, those moments that get you all goose-bumped (be they spooky, beautiful, bombastic, majestic, etc.) every time, or almost every time.

Right now, the first explosion of the Enterprise theme following the string build up around 3:15 mins into "The Enterprise" track from TMP comes to mind...

so...

1. The Enterprise (3:10-3:32) [sT-TMP, Jerry Goldsmith]

Oooh and Dinosaur...another fantastic goose-bumpy moment...

2. Raptors/Stand Together (1:20-2:06) [Dinosaur, James Newton Howard]

More to come as they come to me. Post yours!

Suite to Pleasantville by Randy Newman

that one song when he paints the mural.

It's used on every romantic movie trailer ever but it's still awesome

Salt in the wounds man, salt in the wounds

"Leaving Ingrid" from Tibet gets me, and basically the whole score from E.T., from start to finish. There are tons of tracks. "My Friend, the Brachiosaurus", "Leaving Hogwarts" (and "A Change of Seaons", too), and every rendition of the Force theme.

Williams is the man.

Way too many scores to pick from.

I would say 90% of the scores I have at least 1 track gives me goosebumps.

Immolation (With our lives we give life) from SL. When the choir comes in, I defy anyone not to feel something.

Indeed. Excelent choice.

What about Confluence, right after the 2 minute mark, when you hear a passionante rendition of Sayuri's theme on the cello? It probably was the single greatest moment of film music in 2005.

So manny... Just in the top of my mind:

Concerto for Cello and Orchestra

TreeSong fro Violin and Orchestra

Adventures on Earth

anyhting from Angela's Ashes

The Raider's March (as far as it is performed by the LSO)

the expanded suite from Close Encounters of teh Third Kind

mostly anyhting from Memoirs of a Geisha, but if i could only peek one, "As the Water..."

suite from Schindler's List, in particular, Remembrances.

And the list goes ona dn on...

As for otehr composers, guys like Elgar, Mahler, Beethoven, Bach... a lot of theri music has that effect on me.

-The White Tree from ROTK

-The scene in ESB when R2D2 finally gets the docking bay door open and Yoda's theme erupts after a incredible buildup.

-Return of the King from ROTK (duh!) when Aragorn says to the Hobbits, "My friends! You bow to no one!" That music and scene always get me all teary-eyed.

I know there's more, but that's all I can think of for now.

"Helicopter Rescue", from Superman; the Finale from E.T.; "Yoda and the Force"... and most importantly, "Romeo at Juliet's Grave", from Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet.

That bit of unreleased music from the very end of Jurassic Park as Hammond stands on the helipad, sadly realising that Jurassic Park is over.

Over the Moon

Arrival of Tink; Flight To Neverland

The Mutant (Goldsmith)

Zam the Assasin and The Chase Through Courscant

Check Remembering Petticoat Lane at about 1:50.

Uh god! Lovely!

How did I miss that? It fits so cleanly in the track though , with the petticoat lane Celesta part either side of the bit we're talking about... Maybe it was tracked in to the end of the film, originally supposed to be used in the petticoat lane scene?

Oh my goodness, I'm not even going to try. I don't know if there's a single track that NEVER fails to give me goose bumps, although I can think of quite a few that give me goosebumps 99% of the time. But I won't mention any names because I'd inevitably forget a lot of them and feel bad about it.

Okay, I give. I'll mention some names.

"Anakin's Betrayal" ("Lament") from ROTS

"It Can't Be" from ROTS (full version, as heard in the film)

Padme's Funeral (as mentioned by someone else above)

"Journey to the Island" (the whole track, not just the part when they arrive)

Okay, no more. There are PLENTY more. But I'm not going to even try.
