On February 5th 1999, John Williams began recording the score for The Phantom Menace. That same day a small website dedicated to the music of that film appeared on the internet. That site has grown and grown to become the definitive source of John Williams news and information on the web.

Long may it continue.

Happy Birthday JWFan.net!

(and happy birthday to Jim Ware :) )

CYPHER - who only pops in every once and awhile now but could not afford to miss posting in a thread like this. I notice so many people have new avatars now... Pixie Twinkle, I really like yours. Dr Who rocks! And your new one is really nice too, Ren. Same goes for yours as well, Romao. :P

Ah the memories. And yet, so many things that probably should be expunged from it. But here's to the year ahead, may it bring many beautiful and inspiring notes!

nightsacpe94 - who noticed that the post started on Feb 4th, but forgives the mere 22 min jump on such a special occasion. :)

I'll say Happy Birthday again!

This is not only the board that I feel comfortable, welcome and a big part of, but I consider it a great teacher! The amount of info of Williams, his various scores and movies and other composers that I've learned from here is phenomenal! Thanks everyone!

You're welcome! :(

It have been six great years... I can't say that I've been around from day one, but surelly I've been around since month one!

I just found this little site about the music for The Phantom Menace a few days after I premiered my own site (February 23rd 1999).

Happy birthday to JWFan.net, and a special congratulation to his mentor, the great and only Ricard Befan.

A shade early, but with so much going on this Tuesday (relatives' birthdays, Super Tuesday, Mardi Gras) I wanted to get this out here before it gets lost in the shuffle. Here's to 9 years of various incarnations of the JOHN WILLIAMS Fan Network, and a happy birthday to Jim Ware (whom many of us recognize, along with John Takis, as a cornerstone of the community).

I can't believe I've been here for almost six and a half years...still seems new in some ways. And yet, things have changed an awful lot since then. In any case, happy birthday, JWFan!

For bringing chaos and mayhem to an otherwise lacklustre website, I offer my congratulations on the demise of this once beloved and respected blog site. Live long and prosper...oh and over there......the bathroom. ROTFLMAO

Nine years! ;)

And happy birthday John Takis

Having met John Takis in person, I can finally confirm that he is not me.

I think we might need photographic evidence. ;)

Happy birthday to a great site and, more importantly, a great community. It's been almost four years now since I started posting regularly, it seems like yesterday.
