I don’t think cash is the problem (apparently it’s amassed $90million in pledges), it’s the delusion that Disney would let them get away with stealing their intellectual property

$90m? What!? That's outrageous, there's no way they've raised that much money.

The producers are claiming they'll cast diverse actors, right all the wrongs of the official film and do it better, but they must be living under the delusion that the actors and producers who worked on the official film weren't behind Johnson's vision, that they were somehow fooled into making a steaming pile of garbage. This remake nonsense has got to stop, it's too far! Aren't there other films that probably deserve a remake?

Why is no one pledging for a remake of The Swarm

These bees, General, are of joint concern, and they are killing Americans, without reference as to whether or not they have a serial number and are expected to salute YOU! So there will be no air drops of any kind until I give the OK!

Pfff...

Try 108 farenheit with 90% humidity in Tel Aviv...

42°C?

Congrats dude, I'd be a puddle on the floor. Hope you have an AC, our best decision ever was getting one. 25°C indoors is already getting too much.

I have ducted air conditioning. Makes the house a fridge in Summer.

Yeah, but I'd like to go OUTSIDE someday? See the world? Perhaps make another (destined to fail) attempt at catching a girl's interest? Not to mention the dog needs walkies.

Two years ago I went a date with a cute 33 year old girl from Austin. At an airport I saw her reading Ready Player One, approached her, and said, "Hey, did you know Steven Spielberg is making that into a movie?" We ended up talking for hours on the flight, and spent a day together in DC, ending with a kiss in front of the White House!

So I know there's Texas girls who would totally be into you, amigo. And you have the advantage of having a dog..."Yeah, (s)he is cute, huh? Hey, my dog can also do really cool tricks, but not in the heat. My house has AC, wanna come over and watch his(her) tricks?" ;)

Girls? They're not worth the effort. It's time to accept one's role as an awesome loner.

I am a loner, just not a particularly compelling one.

My dog doesn't do tricks except sitting on command before getting a treat. I never found any intrigue or purpose in the concept of teaching him to roll over or whatever.

Also, I'm intensely unpleasant to look at, which I've assumed is a significant factor as to whether or not a person of the female persuasion would ever find me ideal romantic company.

She won't know that! ;)

I know seeing this from a stranger on the Internet won't help you internalize this, especially if you happen to have some kind of BDD or something, but dude, you ain't that bad, judging from that one convention photo you shared. As cliched and trite as it might sound, I've learnt the hard way that looks only go so far with ladies, anyways.

Eh, based on that one picture you shared, it's not that bad at all. Try making a more normal face than that "I just pooped in my diapers and don't want this lady to notice it because I will cry if she does" one, try straightening your shoulders and back, and there you go. These may even just be the results of that situation.

I misread BDD as BDH for a moment.

"I have Bryce Dallas Howard? I WISH!"

Anyway, I can at least assure that, yes, I only particularly look like shite in that picture because I was nervous meeting Heather Langenkamp.

I would recommend putting more effort in addressing this kind of attitude, than your Heather Langenkamp face. :P

Oh, you think I'm not that bad, huh? Well, I recently edited the tracklist to Fallen Kingdom to include what are (to me) better puns! I couldn't replace all the titles though as I couldn't come up with replacements. No woman is desperate enough to gaze upon this and think "yeah, I totally want to snuggle with the guy that went out of his way to do THIS"...but I don't care, I'm still laughing my arse off looking at this stuff I came up with.

No, but you clearly have a knack for puns, which, if applied to less niche topics on a date, may make them laugh a lot - I'm told that's good.

#13 should say LOCK-BLOCK.

Thank you! That's much smoother than what I had. Lockwood Blocked was in the "Eh, could sound better, I'll come back to this one" category.

People have scorned this thread multiple times over and over, myself included. But ya know, I'm proud of what this thread has become. It's kind of like how Melvin Van Peebles deliberated filmed the sex scenes in Sweet Sweetback's Badass Song first, so executives would dimiss the whole thing as just black people making a porno and leave the team alone, giving Peebles the freedom to make a powerful film.

AC is good for keeping the temperature down in Spring but once you get past a certain point (May) it won't get down to the set temperature until midnight or so (if that).  Choosing between indoors and outdoors is choosing whether to be boiled or baked.

It does get a lot nicer in Fall/Winter though.
