Saxman717 22 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 RotS is the best prequel score for me for that exact reason. I can enjoy the individual pieces. When a score only draws its appeal from being heard as a whole, it's boring...................so in your opinion, TPM can only draw appeal from being heard as a whole? What if TPM is appealing as both individual pieces (Anakin's theme, Flag Parade, Qui Gon vs Maul in the Desert, Leaving Home, Fuel of the Fates, list goes on), and is also appealing from being heard as a whole? Wouldn't that make it the best prequel score, if ROTS is only pleasing when taken in pieces?
aj_vader 598 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The timings of the tracks have just appeared on google play, samples on the way!?

Richard P 4,779 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 It's got 106 5-star reviews already.And there's a 90 second track in there... what the hell is Williams doing? Musical logic!
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 there's two 90 second track in there... what the hell is Williams doing? Musical logic! No there isn't.

BloodBoal 7,544 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 If you were to be honest, you'd say you edited your post!
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The final two tracks should be an awesome 14 minute sequence
BloodBoal 7,544 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The album sounds like an awesome 77 minutes sequence!
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I betcha there'll be a lot of unreleased music between tracks 21 and 22. And track 9's gotta have the source cue as a part of it, like in KOCS. crumbs 1
BloodBoal 7,544 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 If it's 4 minutes long, KM is gonna throw a major tantrum!
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I just can't believe we only get 2 1/2 minutes out of the final battle! I wanted that track to be 10 minutes long!
gkgyver 1,647 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Just be glad it's no Tomorrow Never Dies.
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Yes that release was unfortunate, but at least rectified twice over. Who knows when we'll get more TFA music released.
Not Mr. Big 4,818 Posted December 14, 2015 Author Posted December 14, 2015 Track times are a bit short aren't they?
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 The album is 77 minutes long, and there are 23 tracks. How else could it possible work?
curlytoot 97 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Found this in a Star Wars forum! Jay 1
mrbellamy 7,328 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Here we go...Just look at that emboss!
Director of Poltergeist 8,127 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 WHERE IS IT I WANT IT!
Tom 5,616 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I hope the flow from track to track is good. My only disappointment with the listing is the relative brevity of what look like concert tracks (rey, march, scherzo), but that is mainly for future live performances. Perhaps the published concert versions will be longer. SafeUnderHill and Not Mr. Big 2
Damien F 1,908 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I just can't believe we only get 2 1/2 minutes out of the final battle! I wanted that track to be 10 minutes long!Perhaps only part of that final battle is scored?
mrbellamy 7,328 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Yeah, those all read like titles for an extended climax.
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Oh, yea maybe.I don't wanna think about these things too much until after I've seen the movie, come to think of it.

I wanted that track to be 10 minutes long!Perhaps only part of that final battle is scored?Perhaps Williams is being just as brutal as ever in excluding good music from the album. He and Goldsmith excelled at that and I respect them a lot for leaving off massive highlights of the score as if they didn't even matter.
PetePan 163 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Anybody already got in contact with the guy on the Star Wars forum to ask where he got that CD ( at Walmart obviously)
Sandor 858 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I hope there will be pictures of the back cover as well... Can't wait to see it.
Crimson Nagus 49 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Why didn't he take a picture of the back, unless it is just more stars!Wonder which track is the cantina song, assuming those titles are correct?
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Found this in a Star Wars forum! Can you please link us to the forum post were you first saw this?
PetePan 163 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Here you go: http://boards.theforce.net/index.php?threads/John-Williams-will-score-E7.50011867/
PetePan 163 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 No picture of the back, and the CD apparantly didn't leave the store...
Wojo 2,458 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I just bought this. It'll be delivered where I work on a vacation day, but I'll come in to work just for a Star Wars CD.
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 So that WalMart image was originally posted right here:http://boards.theforce.net/threads/john-williams-will-score-e7.50011867/page-99#post-52959311WARNING: THAT'S A FORUM WHERE MOVIE SPOILERS ARE ALLOWED UNMASKED!The URL of his photo was twitter's image hosting domainhttps://pbs.twimg.com/media/CWNnABvU8AABBnZ.jpg:largeCan anyone find the original tweet where it first appeared?
crumbs 15,516 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Screw the music, I just want that embossed cover!
bruckhorn 123 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 I'm curious as to how long it will take for it to leak. The photo doesn't appear to be from the floor of a Wal-Mart. Is the CD getting packed for shipping to a Wal-Mart or is it being unpacked?Yes, I snickered like a middle-school aged boy when I read "extended climax".And was $*(@!! giddy when checking out the preview clip from 60 Minutes.
Jay 42,491 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 It's clearly a photo taken from an internal WalMart distribution center, not a store. In other words, it proves that the CDs have left the manufacturing plant Disney uses and have arrived in large quantities to WalMart corporate, who is attaching their own price sticker to it then shipping them out in smaller quantities to individual stores. SteveMc 2,678 Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Scherzo for X-Wings. With a name like that it has to be good. And what about The Falcon? Will the ship get its own theme?
leeallen01 2,207 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Scherzo for X-Wings. With a name like that it has to be good. And what about The Falcon? Will the ship get its own theme?Hopefully a new kick-ass motif like with 'TIE Fighter Attack' and 'Asteroid Field.'
Romão 2,428 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 So, the movie end credits are 8 minutes 12 seconds long. Do you think we'll get the whole thing on the cd?
crumbs 15,516 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 8:51 is the time on the OST. 8:12 is the credit runtime (although I've a feeling there will be post credits logos, possibly 25 seconds worth of Disney and Bad Robot logos.)We only got about 90 seconds of music from the finale of ROTS, so I imagine for TFA the end credits will be complete on the OST but the finale will be cut down.
Will 2,329 Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 So, the movie end credits are 8 minutes 12 seconds long. Do you think we'll get the whole thing on the cd?We usually get the full end credits on CD with Star Wars, right?
