If I understood it correctly for TLW there would have been anyway just one track with a special album edit. But that one could have been added as single bonus track. 
 
And for Elfman, I like a lot of his music. But I never felt the need to own any expansion of his work because usually I would have been fine with about 50 to 70% of his OSTs. After all, he is not a John Williams. 

This AI is terrible. Like "Indiana Jones and the Raiders from Hell". It is obviously running in some meat grinder mode. Like Seth Brundle's teleporter 1.0.

Someone forgot to tell A.I. that art is meant to be beautiful.

If red is not part of Hook’s colour palette, i dont know what other colour could represent him better 😅.

I was just thinking. Could it be, that Hook is the only JW score apart from franchises with so much and rich Thematik material? I mean, 12 major themes!!!
 

I'm in South Africa. There are probably no more than five serious score collectors here including myself*.
 
Although used score CDs are scarce here, when they do pop up in second hand stores or online they're a steal. The most I've ever paid here for a used score CD is around USD 20 - for Kamen's Baron Munchausen. Generally one can pick stuff up for between USD 1 and 5, but I've even acquired a good few score CDs for a quarter or two each.

I've just ordered the OSTs of Rota's Romeo and Juliet and The Taming of the Shrew.

I must confess that I was also a bit surprised by the cover art on this edition; I really loved the poster art that was used for the 2012 release. I don’t really associate blue with this film, either, so it just feels a bit odd. It’s beautiful, just unexpected.

My Amazon order also included Duel and Nolan's Insomnia, but the envelope was half open and those two discs (of four - the whole order arrived split over several shipments) were missing. There doesn't seem to be a way to contact Amazon's customer service anymore, so the only option I found was to select "parts missing", which meant that I got a return code in exchange for immediate replacements, but had to accept that I would be billed a second time if I don't return the items "in the condition I received them in" by 1 February. I guess I'll just have to send back a printed note saying that the two items were missing (as already mentioned in my initial complaint), and the contents of the (otherwise empty) return envelope therefore *are* the items in the conditions I received them in…

I speak under correction, but as I understand it, if the Dolby Atmos or DTS-X system i.e. hardware detects a standard 5.1 track it will play that as is, unless you enable a mode that can pseudo upscale to a format with more channels. It's a bit like Dolby Pro-Logic II that takes a stereo film track with matrix encoded surround for example and simulates a more 5.1-like effect with semi-discreet L/R surrounds.
 
Although my Integra receiver predates object based audio formats, it has an Audyssey music mode that upscales my 2 channel music to 7.1-like sound using the front effects speakers in my rig amongst others. It's quite immersive, although my regular stereo setup still kicks its teeth out for pure critical listening purposes.

Gave the first five or six tracks a listen on Spotify and wow! What an incredible score! So annoying about the dialogue (and SFX to boot) though.
 
Who started this trend of including film dialogue over music on soundtrack albums and when do we get to tar and feather them?
 
Imagine someone saying "nah, don't get that soundtrack album. It's only got the music, there's no talking".
 
Update. Gave the rest of the tracks a scan-through listen and it appears there are quite a few clean cues sans dialogue..thank goodness.

Warning! Hands off Gentlemen Don't Eat Poets! Nice music. But the album is rather a radio play of the movie than a soundtrack album. Dialogues between and during the tracks. An awful listening if you just want to hear good music.

I was going to place a huge order containing all the stuff that has accumulated since last year's black friday at MBR, but some stuff was out of stock and couldn't be ordered, so I had to split my order between MBR (for Hook, Sneakers, and the Magnificent Seven box set I never picked up) and Soundtrack Corner for the rest (which doesn't list if stuff is in stock or "temporarily out of stock" or "out of stock" (a distinction made at MBR) - so hopefully they'll actually be able to fulfil it, and within in less than a year…)

That music that was dialed out of the film in The End of Hook (heard in the samples) has got to be the most thrilling bit of Williams unused music ever
