Oh god, I had forgotten about that! I think the trailer did have some misdirects too, if I recall. And the trailer music they used (not from the film) was very action-oriented hahaha. Was very late 90s/early 2000s of them to hype it up like some intense thrill ride when in reality it was more of a moody atmospheric mystery film.
I think the cast and the basic premise sold the movie to audiences. Back then, movie stars usually still carried a film's success compared to today. Are there any true movie stars left that are guaranteed to sell tickets?

Always loved this film and score! Shame about all the spoilers in the listing (and some of the track titles too, if you read into them). The movie always felt cozy to me? The perfect rainy/gloomy weather, staying in at home for the day kind of film. I remember it being a bit of a hit at the time (unless I am mistaken) and was even parodied in one of the "Scary Movie" films. A shame it kind of got forgotten after that, so I hope this release may convince more to watch it.
Then again, given how critical we have all become, I'm sure some will see it as derivative trash and wonder what the hell I ever saw in it. Oh well.

If I had to criticize, that is the one mixing choice I didn't agree with on the release. On past releases it was much more balanced at that part. I suppose they were trying to match the film mix more but it just doesn't work for me.

Interesting! I sent an email to clarify. We'll see what they say! But you're probably right. Damn, I want a piano demo haha.

Speaking of Godzilla, looks like there is a new re-release of the Godzilla David Arnold score from BuySoundtrax? Like before, it is a 3-CD set. But the Bonus Tracks on the page listing seem to have 2 NEW bonus tracks that wasn't on the previous 3-CD version? However, they aren't seen on the back cover. Could this be an error?
New tracks are bolded by me:
BONUS TRACKS:
12. Logo #3 (0:19)
13. The Beginning (no choir) (3:34)
14. The Boat Gets It (alt.) (1:11)
15. Footprints / New York / Audrey (alt.) (0:51)
16. Evacuation (alt.) (2:43)
17. The Garden Gets It (alt.) (3:03)
18. Big G Goes To Monster Heaven (alt.) (4:32)
19. Godzilla (Solo Piano) (2:41)
20. Gojira (Album Version) (2:47)- MaxMovieMan, Jay, enderdrag64 and 2 others

That's so odd that it's only for European releases! It actually has grown on me, despite it being inferior to the Jonsi song.

Wow I didn't realize it's only 2,000 copies. Seems kind of low considering.

I'd even factor in Ross' age. Chamber of Secrets was 20 years ago, now a 75-year old assistant would (at least initially) have to score almost the entire movie (!), and obviously for the sake of JW-style coherence, it would be easiest for him to quote the temp-track verbatim.
The situation could have been better if JW would have written more material right away (before re-edits), leaving Ross with less work to do...
That's why I believe someone like John Powell would have been a better choice as assistant in a role like this, which he basically already proved with Solo. Breathing new life into the work of Williams. Look at what he did for "Reminiscence Therapy" for that score. It's largely a temp track of Williams past moments, but woven in such a fresh and exciting way that it feels like it has its own flow and has fun with it.

When can we expect the first podcast interview to drop?

Is it wrong that Pulse Of The City is one of my favorite cues of the entire score?

20 hours ago, Yavar Moradi said:I mean... BRING IT ON! Intrada loves Peter Bernstein (they released his magnum opus, Rough Riders, which also deserves an expansion) and frankly his two Ewok scores are probably something Disney/Lucasfilm is likely to be willing to give them rights to first, before the Williams Star Wars scores. But they could be a very important stepping stone, just as Willow was no doubt a stepping stone to Solo!

Could not agree more. I have wanted these scores for SO long. I once talked to Peter years ago and he said they were going to come out. Then a few years later he said he wanted to try to re-record them first. But that was a very long time now, on both accounts. At this point I just want the scores as heard from the films, rather than not at all.
Anyways, excited for the Solo set!

Hasn't it been the 18th of October all along for people that ordered back in August, like myself? It's the only date I've ever seen.
