First Knight (La-La Land) and Alien (Intrada) were sent off to me today. While I was at it, I had Peter add the score for Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer for me since it was pretty cheap, so I'll be getting that as well. I should have all three CD's by the weekend.

I could never get into Hisaishi's music. Not to be racist or anything, but it sounds too Japanese.

You really need to listen to more of his music before saying that. Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo and Four Gods are not what you'd call 'Japanese.'

On the other hand, I ordered Crysis 2 and Copernicus Star from LLL.

Tron: Legacy. I have no idea what got into me. It was really cheap so I kind of grabbed it. ;)

And I (quite unexpectedly) won:

Black Swan

The King's Speech

Predators

Whatever Works

If your tastes are anythinglike mine, you'll LOVE Alien. Fantastic presentation by Intrada, BTW.

In the film score world:

The Da Vinci Code & Angels & Demons (Zimmer)

The Perfect Storm (Horner)

In the rock n' roll world:

Pickin' Up the Pieces (Fitz & the Tantrums) - a lovely throwback to Motown soul.

Welcome to My DNA (Blackfield) - haven't listened to this one as of yet, but generally a big Steven Wilson fan.

Just bought a bunch of used CDs from moviemusic.com. All stuff I never had, except ID4, which I am only re-buying because my original OST disc is cracked and unplayable. For CE3K I have had the expanded since it came out but never could find the OST in stores before it went OOP.

1 of Money Train (score) (La-La Land LLLCD 1162) at $4.99 each

1 of Ocean's Eleven (Warner Bros 48112) at $4.99 each

1 of Born on the Fourth of July (MCA MCAD 6340) at $4.99 each

1 of Independence Day (RCA Victor 68564) at $3.99 each

1 of Planet of the Apes (Sony Classical SK 89666) at $2.99 each

1 of The Missouri Breaks (Ryko RCD 10748) at $7.99 each

1 of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (Arista ARCD 8365) at $8.99 each

Nostalgia. As I said my copy is cracked and doesn't play. Plus its an SACD which the LLL release isn't. Also has a unique edit of The Day We Fight Back not on the LLL release.

It was $4.

I traded my ID4 OST in soon after ripping the LLL set. Same with my OSTs of Batman, Star Trek, and Stargate after getting expanded versions of those.

Catching up a bit:

Rosewood

Seven Years in Tibet

Angela's Ashes

Sleepers

War of the Worlds

Amistad

Minority Report

Music for Stage and Screen

All for $20!

Any highlights among these?

1 of The Missouri Breaks (Ryko RCD 10748) at $7.99 each

I have to pick this up some time. Is the Ryko disc the one to get, or is there another more complete version?

I'm not familiar with Rosewood, Sleepers, or Music for Stage and Screen, but of the ones I have I'm a big fan of Angela's Ashes, Amistad, and Minority Report. But the others are good too. Did you get the import or the USA release of Angela's Ashes? I'm told the latter has some annoying narration.

Great finds at such a bargain price. Some of my favourite JW scores among them. :)

The Rykodisc release has exactly the same content as the current Varese CD but Ryko booklet has a nice short track-by-track analysis instead of just the general background information on the film that you get with the Varese booklet.

Sherlock Holmes by Patrick Gowers.

Wanted to get that one for a long time.

And it's cheap too.

A nice find. I should get that one too. His music for the show is fantastic.

Pity that the full version of the opening titles isn't on disc, but just the truncated one.

I bought the following from my CD store:

Itaipu - Philip Glass

The Firebird (also includes "4 Etudes" and "Fireworks") - Stravinsky

Tchaikovsky Favorites (1812 Overture, Symphonies 5 and 6, Romeo and Juliet)

These were completely financed by me selling my Elfman OSTs, Bourne Ultimatum OST, and Sound of Music OST (I still have the 40th Anniversary edition).

I have that album. I'm not a big fan of the other works at the end, but The Firebird is absolutely fantastic. Some aspects of that recording are a little iffy for me, but it's quite good on the whole, I think.

I believe it's the narration version. Thanks for the feedback, guys. It's kinda cool to close a bunch of gaps in the collection for a couple bucks. I may even end up being a JW completist yet.
