None of your business, that's my name.  Weird question.

    Not heard it.
Still like hearing Bond songs in the titles.

It's good however I do find that brass motif gets a little repetitive towards the end.

In the case of CHINATOWN, I feel like it's such a seminal score (especially in terms of its spotting), so although I prefer TTI more, it's a more ambitious and historically important effort.

In the case of MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, that -- too -- is such a seminal score. Proper chops finally given by the Academy to electronic music. Love its gruelling, corporal feel in the film. While - all things considered - I might consider SUPERMAN more of a personal favourite, I put that aside for a moment. But the competition between the two, in terms of personal favourites, was always very close to begin with. Both are masterpieces.

Jeez, I had forgotten that Alien wasn't even nominated; What a joke.  That would have been my pick if it was in the poll, but I picked Star Trek TMP instead, another masterpiece from Jerry in the same year

Which is exactly why some of us prefer the father-son dynamic in The Last Crusade to the Indy-and-pseudo-"Bond"-girl from either Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom. The relationship there just feels more genuine.

Sure, why not? I like that film better than most people anyway, despite its flaws.

I don't think the portrayal of any of the the Indians in TOD, from the villagers to the villains, would fly today either.

In fact the whole idea of an American white male archaeologist flying around the world stealing artifacts from the poorest countries would probably result in the cancellation of everyone involved.

    He, he...indeed.

I hate my advanced age in terms of physical decay, but I'm so thankful that I got to experience a time of more "happy-go-lucky joie-de-vivre", where heroes were proper heroes and empowered female characters just grew naturally out of the story (like Ripley or Sarah Connor) rather than being hammered over the head about how empowered they are (like Enola Holmes or 2020 Mulan).

I've never really done any research on him and I don't care to. All I know is that I've always enjoyed the movie, story and concept, and I figured the book might be worth a shot.

bruce marshall reacted to Quintus in What Is The Last Film You Watched? (Older Films)
It had its moments but the film fails to make any impact, it's strangely lacking in the necessary grand sweep and spiritual throughput one would expect of an epic journey story. It's just sort of scenes they filmed, put together in chronological order. Williams was brought in (and heavily relied upon as always) to stitch it all together, but he completely fails on this occasion. I agree that War Horse is a pretty rubbish score by his standards. The sickly sweet Last of the Summer Wine tone through the prism of a major American composer is the worst thing about the music.
