eitam reacted to King Mark in Williams debuts "Helena's Theme" from Indiana Jones 5 at the Hollywood Bowl
I stopped reading your attached article at "Marion is a damsel in distress; an object of the male gaze. Other female characters of the original trilogy are similarly objectified..." .
Thank your for ruining my day with this woke nonsense and dragging Williams music into it.

But don't worry. Faced with sexual misconduct allegations, Indy will be forced to resign from his job at the academy with Helena taking over his duties at the end of Indy 5.

And the main plot of the film will involve Indy returning all the artifacts he stole from grave sites over the years and apologising to their owner's descendants when he realises it was cultural appropriation.

(Damn, that would surely qualify Indy 5 for a best picture nomination at the Wokescars).

Could have been worse. I was expecting something along "you must follow your heart", not "you have to touch the darkness".

Williams is a notorious procrastinator and is waiting until the last minute to get stuff done on the film.

eitam reacted to Tom in The inside story of how John Williams was secretly chosen Boston Pops conductor in 1980
By all accounts, he left on very good terms.  He wanted to spend more time composing and less with all the admin and conducting time necessary as conductor.  He was in his 60s when he retired.  Plus, he has maintained an active laureate role, recorded film scores with them, and wrote several concerti for performers.  I am not sure what Artguy's issue is.

I've seen the 3 Lord of the Rings movies, 3 Star Wars movies, first 3 Potters, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Gladiator, Titanic, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, and Superman.

Overall I'm always slightly disappointed by those concerts, I'm going primarily for the music but I find that the dialogs and sound effects are dialed too loud for my taste.

Dracula was a hot mess. Excellent first two episodes and an absolute trainwreck of a third (but I still quite enjoyed it). Dolly Wells was a revelation as Van Helsing.

I can't wait for Moffat's new mini-series drama Inside Man. David Tennant, Stanley Tucci and Dolly Wells - what a combination.

General Grievous from RotS is what came to my mind the first time I read the title. I just love the raw power and rhythmic nature of this cue, it's nothing he's ever done for Star Wars before and since.
(Zam would have been my number 2 choice, it's a shame both are heavily edited or differently arranged in the movies themselves)
