DrTenma reacted to Brundlefly in Harry Potter - The John Williams Soundtrack Collection 7CD boxset from La-La Land Records (2018)
You can still hope that Quartet Records will do all the Williams expansions from now on.
Buy one to keep it as well and when a desperate JWFan comes across, once the set sold out, you give it to him.

DrTenma reacted to mstrox in HARRY POTTER 1-3 Complete Score Releases Confirmed
Is it also possible that we took one statement by MV/LLL and went absolutely bonkers in interpreting it? Couldn't be!

DrTenma reacted to Marian Schedenig in HARRY POTTER 1-3 Complete Score Releases Confirmed
And why would he want us to refrain from inquiries regarding that error?
To me, it's clear that this is about the Potter releases that haven't been mentioned anywhere else and that Mike also hasn't commented on. And if he doesn't want us to inquire about it, I'd say that's because he can't officially say anything. Which in turn seems to indicate that they are happening, but shouldn't have been announced yet, and any questions about them would put Mike in a difficult spot. So I'll not inquire and wait patiently. We all know how often these things get delayed, perhaps because of pressing schedules, or because of artwork approvals, or perhaps they simply weren't meant to be announced yet.

DrTenma got a reaction from Pieter Boelen in Alan Silvestri's READY PLAYER ONE (2018)
Honestly I think the choice of Silvestri for this movie was quite smart. He nailed the score, made the enough references to previous material and compose some very good themes in the spirit of the 80's cinema.

DrTenma reacted to Manakin Skywalker in Has the Star Wars Main Theme been altered?
Good news guys, I found out where this is from. It is from Gordy Haab's SWBF2 season 2 DLC recording sessions that took place on March 29. The YouTube channel that posted the video belongs to Peter Moore, who is on the EA board of directors. I don't believe it's actually part of the game, I think they just played it as a warm-up. Gordy posted several pictures on his Facebook page, including this one:

DrTenma reacted to Jay in THE LAST JEDI - Complete Isolated Score stream available via Movies Anywhere and 2020 Blu Ray edition
One sure-fire way to record the 5.1 version is to play it through an HDCP compliant home theater setup such as a Roku hooked up via HDMI to a 5.1 AV receiver, and then use a computer to record all six pre-Out RCA outputs from the back of the receiver as it plays.
As far as I've seen, no one's figured out how to actually rip the bitstream coming from the Movies Anywhere server directly, only various ways to record it as it plays live.

DrTenma reacted to Josh500 in The "On the Conveyor Belt" appreciation thread
You know, this part is not my favourite, but I like it a lot too. This reminds me of "To Cairo" from Raiders of the Lost Ark, especially the Middle Eastern sounding flavour there at the end.... Great stuff!

DrTenma got a reaction from Naïve Old Fart in The "On the Conveyor Belt" appreciation thread
I bought a second copy of Attack of the Clones CD for this cue! I think it's a very good action cue. AotC is my least favourite score from the saga, but that doesn't mean that I don't think is an excellent score with great moments. I particularly love this small section in Jango's Escape:
I have been always a great fan of how Williams composes this kind of minor bits for Star Wars

DrTenma got a reaction from Taikomochi in Star Wars Prequel VS. Sequel scores
I voted for the sequels. Is still an unfinished work, but I think TFA is one of best Williams' scores so far.

DrTenma reacted to Jay in THE LAST JEDI - Complete Isolated Score stream available via Movies Anywhere and 2020 Blu Ray edition
Wow just catching up on this thread is hilarious. So many people confused by pretty straightforward technology.
Rian Johnson / Disney made the isolated score available to stream in high quality (Dolby Digital+ in 5.1 channels) and if your device supports it, you get to listen to it in that format.
If your device doesn't, you get a downgraded version. If you play on a computer, for example, you get 96kbps AAC. If you play on Apple TV, you get PCM stereo. If you play on a good enough Roku, you get the DD 5.1. This is all assuming the device on the other end of the HDMI can read that format.
It's not going to be on the physical Blu Ray disc. We've already known that for weeks, but RJ's tweets again today reconfirm it. Some people only read his first tweet instead of the whole chain.
It's an exclusive special feature only available with Movies Anywhere. If you buy the movie digitally today on another platform, you can link your purchase to Movies Anywhere and stream the music track. If you wait and buy the physical Blu Ray, it comes with a digital copy and if you activate that, you can link it to Movies Anywhere and stream the music track.
Officially and legally, you can only play the music through Movies Anywhere while you have an active internet connection to stream it while the movie streams (unless they have an offline mode I'm not aware of).
If you plan on pirating this track instead of purchasing it, please don't talk on our public forums about that, or how you've pirated it for other people. Use your head.
Please just talk about the music track itself, and the software and methods one might use to archive yourself a recording of it if you did buy it, IE for in case Movies Anywhere ever takes it away or you don't want to use internet bandwidth to listen to it every time, etc. Please don't talk about uploading it to others or downloading it if you didn't buy it. We have a freaking PM system people.
Thank you.

DrTenma got a reaction from Taikomochi in Where do you rank the score for "The Last Jedi"?
I voted fifth. I will placed before 1) 'Empire Strikes Back', 2) 'Star Wars', 3) 'The Force Awakens' and 4)'The Phantom Menace'; but before 6) 'Return of the Jedi', 7) 'Revenge of the Sith' and 8) 'Attack of the clones'. Not that I dislike any of the Star Wars scores ('Rogue One', which will be 9th, has even grow in me with some of its tracks) but after some listenings I this 'The Last Jedi' is one of the most enjoyable scores from the saga.
