Not at all, it has been performed here multiple times, and is one of JW's most cherished compositions, same as elsewhere. The film, like others (e.g. Downfall, The Pianist, etc.) that depict this period in a serious way, is well regarded. It's the comedic handling of the subject matter that makes us squirm uncomfortably in our seats, like buddy-Adolf in Jojo Rabbit.

And the story made it into the Berlin programme booklet at least, as the final punchline of the text

It's not just 70-year-olds who cough and make noise during concerts. In that regard, the FFP2 mask rule actually helps.  Sure, it would be more comfortable without them, but aside from the obvious fact that they make these concerts possible without killing people, they also make the audience very reluctant to cough during the concert. A week before Berlin I attended a chamber concert at the Musikverein and heard one cough throughout the entire programme. I wish people will still remember how to do that when we can finally leave the masks off.

Do us all a favor and don't fill this thread up with these stale as fuck TLJ opinions.  Can't speak for crumbs but I'd doubt he'd want his topic and hardwork sidetracked like this.

Take it to that dumpster fire of a star wars thread.

Not really, when many fans consider it the purest Indiana Jones film of the lot.

It's certainly the most enjoyable to watch, IMO.

It makes me a bit sad how unliked the Mutter arrangements seem to be here. If I could only have one of the two programs, I'd easily pick the Vienna one, for the violin stuff and War Horse. But I'm happy that Berlin was different enough to give us plenty of new highlights.

Haven't we gone over this multiple times already? The LSO are experienced sight-readers who do a lot of film music recordings, the Philharmoniker are not. If one concert gets cancelled (and before the first rehearsal, too), a rescheduling (and with a different programme, though that hardly matters) a year later won't mean any players would have looked at the sheet music during that time (let alone learn & practice it). I still believe that Williams, upon hearing the orchestra, thinking they can play everything already, and cutting the rehearsals short, and being used to American orchestras and the LSO, overestimated their sight reading skills and didn't expect some problematic moments to persist from rehearsal to performance. And ultimately, though there are flubs (and at least one of them apparently in the printed sheet music), not every imprecision is an error. The LSO's extreme precision is impressive, but it's not the only way to play music, and a more "organic" performance can have its own strengths. The Berliner these days seem closer to the LSO's precision than the Wiener's style in that regard.

Everybody seems to have forgotten how awesome Vienna was, in terms of the musicians (instrument signing session, asking to play the Imperial March, all those happy strings players, the mighty horns..., Anne-Sophie Mutter joining for Raiders, commissioning of a new Ball processional...), the perfection of CE3K, Dartmoor, Devil's Dance, and the now legendary rendition of the Imperial March at the end. The audience was just about the same as in Berlin, standing up after every other piece, hollering, thumping and so on. It was the proper continental debut that generated nearly 4000 comments in its thread, and had an awesome feel of a second chance after the 2018 health fiasco. I am not saying one concert is better than the other, but looking at this poll, it seems strangely lopsided.

It will make more sense to compare albums released once we get the Berlin one.

Harrison's in Sicily and looks great!

Areas of Cefalu being transformed to be period-accurate, for shooting later this month:

Piazza Duomo in Cefalu is being transformed into a 1960s era setting with vintage cars:

Meniace Castle along the coast of Syracuse, where gunboats and horses have been spotted, so likely a big action sequence here:

Tonnara Del Secco is being dressed with watchtowers:

They're filming at the Ear of Dionysius, which has been transformed into a mine:

Also at the Neapolis Archeological Park.

And some type of 1960s market at the Manor of Oritizia:

Safe to say that, if one of the biggest flaws with KOCS is how they didn't even leave the US to shoot, Mangold is working hard to rectify that.

Seems like a lot of the film will take place around the Mediterranean.

Amazed to see a thread about this and be like "I know that guy's music!". I love rollercoasters. Absolutely love them. Wodan at Europa Park is my #1 - it's a great ride, but also has the best soundtrack of any ride I've ever been on. In fact, I have the physical CD of it, which I believe you can only get in a couple of the gift shops in the park (I'm sure someone will now go and find it online somewhere).

His Europa Park main theme is also great - really pumps me up when going through the entrance gate.

God I want to go back there so badly. Nearly every major park in the UK is owned by the same company who just pay IMAscore (another Media Ventures type lot) to create crap synth music for their rides. Europa Park do things properly.
