The "best" ones?

John Barry -  Out of Africa

James Horner - Field of dreams

Either of those would be fantastic!

Is there a lot of score in the Field of Dreams movie that isn't on the OST album?

Blade Runner!

But also: Apocalypse Now, the first two Godfather films, other Goldsmith scores that I'm blanking on at the moment...

Well Sugarland Express hasn't been expanded, nor has it ever been released... Though I doubt Mike was able to convince Williams to release it.

It's such a short score anyway (and after watching the film I'm not desperate to get my hands on it, even if it'd be nice to tick off).

According to this recent thread, every Goldsmith score from the 70s or 80s has had a CD released by a specialty label (except for Shamus)

https://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/32621-jerry-goldsmith-complete-motion-picture-discography/

Only if we are talking theatrically released films. Plenty of fantastic scores for TV feature films (including The Man, which was released theatrically in some overseas markets) which remain totally unreleased. my favorite is probably Crawlspace but many people love Pursuit, which has a similar “mod” style to Shamus.

Have some other corrections to make to that post, too.

Now if we are talking 70s and 80s Goldsmith scores that lack an expansion (which I thought was the subject being brought up here), that’s a much longer list, including stuff like The Other and MacArthur (film recording actually totally unreleased) from the 70s and stuff like Under Fire and Link from the 80s.

Vangelis has released two discs of BLADE RUNNER.

The second counts as " expansion"

Yeah....yeah.... Yeah ....not complete....blah...blah.... Blah😉

Ha! Yeah, more like "Blade Runner-as-concept album"

Didn't the REDUX release ' expand' the score?

Yeah there's a lot.  The OST is rough around the edges.

If they limit it to ONE disc I could go for FOD expansion.

Yeah, right. Fat chance of that ( see: CASPER)😔

Nope. There are still several important cues missing, including unreleased music by the Rhythm Devils, plus most of the tracks on the Redux album are early versions or alternate takes of the music heard in the film.

MV confirms in the FSM thread that TRUE GRIT and THE WARRIORS and FANTASTIC VOYAGE are all completely out of print and will be removed from their website (they each currently say "Temporarily Out Of Stock" on their website)

And also that THE GREAT RACE is not out of print, and new copies should be in before the end of the year as well

That's a shame, had a couple of those 2021 scores pencilled in for my BF order (assuming there's something I want), namely the Disaster Box, Matrix Reloaded, Dances with Wolves and Jack Reacher.

Didn't realise Empire of the Sun was still in print either, must remember to pick that up next year.
