Oomoog the Ecstatic 314
Just rewatched Raiders of the Lost Ark in a long time. Honestly, I don't get the hype too much, everything going on seems kinda shallow. The only thing I liked was the music and one of the battle scenes. The Time Machine (2002) is more interesting + has a better OST. Quintus

Matt C 461
Transformers: The Last Knight It took Paramount until the failure of this movie to boot director Michael Bay off the franchise. Just as brain-dead as the last four films, with Bay's usual amber and teal palette, excessive 2.5 hour runtime, useless human characters (seriously WTF are Stanley Tucci and Anthony Hopkins doing here?), nonstop ILM-rendered VFX destruction and Jablonsky's score pounding away in the background. And it took SIX editors to cut this POS together? What really takes the cake is how this doesn't have a consistent aspect ratio. The movie has four, sometimes changing several times in one scene. I don't care how many different cameras they used, that's no excuse for how careless it looks.
The Train Station 8,558
It's one of the worst movies I've ever seen. That said I kinda enjoyed the first and third ones as epic schlock, but the fifth ugh. Matt C

It's a bit disappointing the one time Jablonsky actually gets influenced by some of the more mystical aspects of the "story," it gets cuts to shreds in the final film. Nothing that I'd consider great, but it's certainly better than the droning a lot of RCP scores and some of the TF films have.
Edmilson 8,680
All the Transformers movies are atrocious, but the third one has some decent "destruction porn". Interestingly, it was released one year before a more talented director made cities being torn apart well directed fun again, and two years before another devastated city traumatized an entire generation of internet critics. I miss these years (2007-2015) when Hollywood was able to annihilate urban landscapes in their climaxes, these days most battle scenes have to take place in boring CGI sets (see Endgame). John 2,032
I enjoyed Bumblebee a lot overall. I liked the Iron Giant-esque direction they took the story, though the parts that stood out to me most were the scenes set on Cybertron. The entire opening sequence is just brilliantly animated and executed. Why couldn't we have gotten this in 2007? Chen G.

bollemanneke 3,568
Once upon a time in Hollywood. Certainly not Tarantino’s best movie, but I enjoyed it all the same. DiCaprio is amazing, as are his moments with Trudi, and I loved all the hippie stuff until my brother told me the ending was an alternate one based on real events that were much more dramatic and that final scene would have been better without Jay in it. Lena Dunham is awesome. Some songs were very good, but, again, Tarantino has done better.

The genre combination is clever too. Karol SteveMc
