Wonder if LLL will pursue Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace expansions next, seeing as both scores still have unreleased cues, possibly alternates, and the previous "expansions" (bonus tracks relegated to the end of a digital release) weren't exactly curated as an album.

It's so satisfying having the trilogy of Brosnan/Arnold complete, but it would be amazing to see the quintet of Arnold scores remastered by NSB under the LLL banner.

I suppose they'd prioritise earlier scores like Moonraker and Licence to Kill, mentioned as being "off the table" a few years back (but judging by TND things have changed!)

If it's an expanded Bond score, I'll be buying it no matter where they look next.  Jesus, even if it's, like, Never Say Never Again.

But I'd imagine the Craig era probably makes the most sense.

The Craig era has soundtracks that are perfectly okay.

There's nothing in there warranting an expansion.

Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace are among Arnold’s best work, much better than your dismissive “perfectly okay”. Casino only got a digital expansion with added cues not incorporated, and Quantum has never had an expansion at all but is incredible. I’m thinking you’re just a Craig-era hater?

What's your problem? The topic was that the Craig Bonds would be a logical next expansion. I was obviously referring to the fact that the albums have an okay presentation of the score and no expansion is needed.

I'm thinking you're a bit sensitive?

Casino Royale has some cues missing.

And I would love the full version African Rundown.

Quantum Of Solace is missing 2 short action cues I think and maybe a few other short cues.

It would be something to have that expanded.

I also would love and expansion of Licence To Kill, Living Daylights & Moonraker

The Living Daylights received an expansion 25 years ago

I thought that album was complete, or at least very close to it, but I guess I don't really know >shrug<

EDIT: this article says that album is "nearly (but not fully) complete": https://cnmsarchive.wordpress.com/portfolio/the-living-daylights/

I'd personally much rather have the remaining Barry scores expanded where possible, but I won't have a hissy fit if more Arnold scores get expanded next, I just won't be all over them as I haven't even gotten around to listening to my albums of CR and QoS.

This is my favourite expansion in years. And I don't say that lightly.

Tomorrow Never Dies has always been my favourite of Arnold's Bond scores and that original release was trash.

Side note... I don't know how many of you had the chance to see David Arnold when he toured back in 2015 but I saw him (and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) at Symphony Hall Birmingham... and watching White Knight (one of my favourite cues ever) performed live was like a fucking dream come true. 9 minutes of awesome. One of the best concert experiences of my life.

Wow. That's one of those things that I can barely imagine. Like getting to see The Last Battle from Star Wars live (WITHOUT sound effects and dialog).

White Knight might be one of my favourite cues of all time.

That building of tension...

... it's sublime.

And the film sequence is my official favorite Bond pre credits action sequence (all due respect to the amazing dam sequence in Goldeneye of course).

I originally needed 2 listens and a nudge from the conversation about the song being a part of the score that this really unlocked for me - but boy did it unlock! I absolutely love it. Realising that Surrender's parts tie the whole thing together gives it a big old new layer of fun. I'm generally not a fan of the sound of 90s+ pop, but Bond has always had a strong poppy vein, and I have to say Arnold does a perfect job of melding the old with the new here, the percussion and synths add a lot of kick and fun instead of taking away, but the score still allows for giant Barryesque elephantine brass rips and gentle respites. After a score's worth of hints and twists, the finale with the chorus melody blowing up in waves is insanely satisfying, I had shivers running all over my skin in a perfect scoregasm. I tried TWINE after and I didn't find it nearly as enjoyably cohesive and the pop stuff was a bit more overpowering - I only tried DAD's samples and that seemed to get a lot worse there. TND, however, ultimately ended up more than worth buying. I didn't even have to change much for my perfected program:

I extended White Knight with the unique material right after the gun barrel in the original version, faded it back into its rewrite, switched the opening of Backseat Pilot with the original to have more Bond theme, then combined them to really fit the tempo.

I used Surrender as the title song, it really fits with its big bang of and opening.

I used the edited Company Car - I find this one of the least interesting cues, I found the edit good and it doesn't get rid of anything I love.

I used the alternate Bike Chase for the longer opening.

Surrender (alternate) is the end credits song, its softer opening is a perfect followup to the playoff of the climax, and gives it a reprise feel.

I then combined the remainders, Devonshire Original, Bike Shop film version and the alternate combo of Backseat Pilot (main program opening plus the rest of the original).

Welcome, @raferjanders.

Superb avatar, by the way :)

Ps, if you want to have a member's name highlighted, you have to type @ followed by the first letter of the name as a capital. The remainder of the name in written in lower case. A drop down box (of sorts) will appear, and you just tap, or click on the avatar, or the name. Sorted.
