I only ordered the SACD version from Japan becuase of the format. Plus mine might have some exclusive printed memobrilia here.

Thanks for the heads-up. I’ve placed my order. I’m sure there’s no reason to panic…. But we’ve been burned thinking that way before! I checked back with DG before I saw your post, and I just don’t think anyone knows anything there 😂

If this is confirmed then that may explain the lower price as opposed to the DG Shop offering which just states "2 CD + Bluray".

 

But I somehow have the feeling that some random song-list creating undergrad at jpc has messed up.

I have a feeling that they might be right though, and DG's info is just not specific enough; that it is indeed just a Blu-ray with audio in this release (same on DG as JPC) and we'll have to buy the recorded concert video on the separate Blu-ray release.

Pretty sure it's a typo, this page on Universal Music Japan (https://www.universal-music.co.jp/john-williams/products/651-5029/), for the european article, mentions:

Haven’t watched the blu-ray yet as I have visitors over at the moment.

 

I made separate orders through Tower Records Japan, Amazon Japan and Universal Music Japan - each have different bonus merch! Will post when they all arrive - later today!

You could only get the calendar/poster if you ordered the Deluxe bluray/sacd from Universal Music Store.

 

And…

 

Some disappointing news. Had a listen of the sacd, and as feared, the creaking noises (pedal?) when the celeste are playing “Hedwig’s Theme” haven’t been removed. Don’t think they can be removed to be honest.

 

I first heard the noises when it was shown on Stage+, and was hoping they could have worked some audio magic and removed/minimized the sound, but no…

I'm absolutely confident that there's been a mix up in communication somewhere down the line, and that there is no bluray audio only release.

 

The deluxe will be bluray plus cd. The bluray will have a bluray audio only option too. This isn't anything new, and it's also nothing new to have the separately available bluray edition. I believe the vienna Bluray-only release came about after the deluxe sold out, but then they carried it over as an option for Berlin and now Tokyo. It's all a bit crazy, the amazon listings even seem a little confused over which version is which. And if you go back to an earlier post from me, even DG don't seem to realise it's available for order in Europe 

I'll eat my hat if our "deluxe" edition comes without video.

I quickly noticed that, finally, they decided to include the entire concert on the BluRay, not just the second part conducted by Williams... Because a solo CD with only the second part has absolutely no interest. That's only half of a concert!
