  1. I'd say Simon Franglen has the most realistic chance of scoring this, because not only is he intimately familiar with the Na'vi musical landscape, having designed a lot of it with James Horner, but also worked (with Horner and then of course continued on after his death) on Cameron and Disneyworld's Pandora: The World Of Avatar attraction.
  2. Please don't call me KK! The Shadow by Jerry Goldsmith: What Batman might have sounded like if Jerrald had scored it perhaps minus the Orient signifying heavy percussion. On the whole a very entertaining piece of writing from Goldsmith but while I like the old fashioned main theme the other thematic material could be a bit more memorable, especially for the villain. The Phantom by David Newman: There are some sweet adventure music moment (leanings on Goldsmith and Williams abound) this one doesn't quite reach excellence but remains a decently fun action/adventure outing from Newman. Then again it must have taken enormous fortitude of mind not to write something as silly as Billy Zane in purple spandex and a black mask running around beating up James Remar and Treat Williams. Avatar by James Horner: The three hour complete score is somewhat a lengthy wade through but all the self-referencing and obvious temp-track bleeds aside there are some really neat moments in this score and it manages to paint a complementary musical world to the visuals of the movie. The OST did include most of the highlights but the early exploration music for Pandora and the added 10 minutes of action material from the finale do provide some extra highlights. The whole thing is a sort of "best of Horner old and new" compilation.
  3. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Alan Silvestri. The cue "Pandora's Box" is quite nice. Some nice ethnic instrumentation over the whole score. The film is a guilty pleasure but Silvestri didn't have much to work with. Few good cues like the one mentioned above. I prefer this one to Revell's score for the first but I think he had only five days to write it in! I think there's a "theme" of his which returns I think. At least I think so. Silvestri's score seems to have inspired the much better Tomb Raider: Legend but Steph doesn't want me to mention video games.
  4. Did you know that Roger Dean was/is sueing Cameron over the designs for Pandora? #mountains come out of the sky, and they stand there#
  5. The Season 6 soundtrack has been made available to people in the U.S., Australia and New Zealand on Pandora. I've found it posted elsewhere. Some of the tracks and their titles are somewhat spoilery for Episode 10.
  6. To be honest, I want far more than just four AVATAR sequels. I'm so in love with this universe, I could stay in it forever. No reason why this can't be on the same level as STAR WARS or LORD OF THE RINGS eventually. Long live Pandora!
  7. Naboo is not near 'mediterranean forest' at all! Alex...felucia predates Pandora by 4 years....
  8. Here's my 2015 list of games I completed: Atelier Escha and Logy Dragon Age Inquisition The Last of Us Lords of the Fallen (had to quit because of a bug) Drakengard 3 Far Cry 4 Bound by Flame Xenoblade Chronicles Atelier Shalllie Bloodborne The Last Story Monster Hunter Tri Assassin's Creed Black Flag Mini Ninjas Witcher 3 Ar No Surge:Ode to an Unborn Star Final Fantasy Type 0 Pandora's Tower(quit because of the wii controls) Tales of Zestiria Divinity Original Sin Now Playing :Disgaea D2:A Brighter Darkness
  9. He's clearly talking about the streaming platforms. IE, you can put on the Star Wars channel on Pandora and hear movie clips in between score cuts
  10. I give up on Pandora's Tower,it's too hard with a classic controler (aiming a cursor on screen a lot) and I don't want to bother learning the motion controls of the Wii mote. I may buy Tales of Zestiria this week, but new games are now 75$ here
  11. I needed a break...I haven't played anything in more than a week Sitting on Pandora's Tower. Doesn't help to know there's a game freezing bug near the end of the game making it difficult to complete...apparently. And it's another modern game with fixed camera environments...I hate that As for the games I'm looking forward to: Tales of Zestiria Star Ocean 5 Divinity:Original Sin Fallout 4 Dark Souls 3 Final Fantasy XV The calandar is pretty slim for big open world RPG's.
  12. Pandora's Tower is a Wii game. That's what he was talking about.
  13. Finished FF-Type 0. I found a used copy of Pandora's Tower...very rare game for the Wii and the last Wii game I needed to play. Actually I asked videogame rental store to sell me their rental copy since they hadn;t rented it since 2014 and they agreed for 15$
  14. For Sphere, this is what I have assembled so far: 2-Main Titles 11-Andante/12a-Manifest Fire (0:00-0:04) 4-The Gift 8a-Terror Adagio (0:00-1:36; part of a longer cue) 6-Visit to a Wreckage (lots of microedits) 3-Event Entry 6-21-43 5-Sphere Discovery 7a-Water Snake (0:00-0:56) 10-Fear Retrieval 8b-Terror Adagio (1:37-end; second half of a longer cue) 12b-Manifest Fire (0:04-end) 9-Wave 7c-Water Snake (1:13-end) 7b-Water Snake (0:57-1:13; part of a longer cue) 13-Manifest Unused: 1-Pandora's Fanfare 14-Their Beast Within As you can see, that OST is seriously out of order, and a lot of the cues are different from their film versions. Hopefully an expanded or complete edition is in the works
  15. James Horner revealed in an interview with HeyUGuys that he will be composing the music for Pandora: The Land of Avatar at Disney’a Animal Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The theme park attraction is designed by Walt Disney Imagineering in partnership with James Cameron and Lightstorm Entertainment and will feature the wonders of Pandora, giving parkgoers the chance to “fly with banshees and explore a rich natural environment with mountains that float and interactive plants that glow at night.” Horner has composed the score for James Cameron’s 2009 movie and will return to score the sequel, which is scheduled to be released in 2017. Check out the full interview after the jump. Pandora: The Land of Avatar is currently in construction and is set to open in 2017. http://filmmusicrepo...ion/#more-31597
  16. uuh the Wii remote +numchuk just sucks I went and bought myself a classic controller...now my game works like other consoles .The graphics on Xenoblade are actually better than a few PS3 titles I've played On the Wii I plan to play Xenoblade Chronicles, Monster Hunter 3 , The Last Story and Pandora's Tower This should hold me for the lack of RPG's on the PS4 right now
  17. I'm all for that but what about the technological aspect of making Avatar. He raised the bar, like he did with all his films. I want to see what other stories he can tell about that glorious world Pandora.
  18. And the further revisions....have just started! Pandora's box has been opened!
  19. Most likely. Apparently, most of the action will take place in the oceans of Pandora, so expect a rehash of Finding Nemo... Everyone already looks like Dori, so he's halfway there. Maybe they'll all be suffering from short term memory loss. But it turns out Neytiri can read, so they'll have enough clues to find what they're looking for. . . . See how easy it is? How could the script possibly be delayed?! I was gonna hafta take exception as well. But hey . . . at least you tried. Can't blame you for that.
  20. Most likely. Apparently, most of the action will take place in the oceans of Pandora, so expect a rehash of Finding Nemo...
  21. If you're going to provide a critique for the same film I'm critiquing, please don't reword my words. It's even more unimaginative than the exotic worlds of Pandora.
  22. I'm playing Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure and what a monumental update it is from past games. If you can remember Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive and Overseer from the 90s and their clunky interface and dated graphics, there's nothing of that to be found here. Of course not, this is a brand new release, and was made with the help of a very succesful funding campaign on kickstarter, done by a small team and film production company. Apparently a lot of fans wanted a new adventure by that most unlucky P.I. in the world, Tex Murphy and I'm glad it has happened. Because this has all the humour, dry wit and detective adventuring from the past in a neat shiny package. The lead actor, Chris Jones helped to make this a reality, because he really is the backbone of the series, no too many people match his charm, offbeat behavior and comedic timing. So what that he'll never be an A-list actor, he's absolutely perfect for the role of the stuck in the past detective spewing sarcastic remarks wherever he goes. The rest of the cast does a good job too, and there are a couple of well-knowns too. The ingame graphics are very good for something that was made on such a short time, interface and controls are a piece of cake if you have experience with first-person games. Video quality is absolutely stunning (in 2K resolution), the intro is film quality without question. Production values seem so polished it could be mistaken for a big budget release. If you've never heard of Tex, maybe it's time to make his acquaintance.
