I don't see anything wrong with a whole new cast. How about some or all of the following?

Arnold Schwarzenagar

Owen Wilson

Luke Wilson

DANE COOK!!!

Matt Damon - JASON BOURNE vs. VELOCIRAPTOR

Ben Stiller

Jeff Goldblum - no doubt

Mark Wahlberg

Hugh Jackman

Molly Shannon

Brad Pitt

Leonardo DeCaprio

Mark Rufalo

Jake Gyllenhall

Heath Ledger ( what a great name, if only he were a rock star )

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Owen Wilson, Dane Cook, and Ben Stiller all in a Jurassic Park film. I'd see that just to have the biggest fucking laugh of my life.

Jurassic Park IV should not be made. There should be an overly elaborate system that destroys all traces of Jurassic Park III, and afterwards Spielberg directs the "original" JP III.

If you ask me they should have stopped after Jurassic Park. The Lost World is the worst Spielberg/Williams film.

1941 is the worst Spielberg/Williams film (not for music, for only film)

Second worst is Empire of the Sun.

It's so easy to make a joke out of this, but seriously, who would you choose if you had to cast actors for Jurassic Park 4? Money would be no objection

I have thought about which actors would work in an adventure/jungle movie, and which actors would be interesting to see together. I would have some actors necessary to return for the sake of continuity, some are just good enough to return and then I added some interesting actors, in my view. My suggestions:

Sam Neill - Dr. Alan Grant

Alessandro Nivola - Dr. Billy Brennan

Jeff Goldblum - Dr. Ian Malcolm

Laura Dern - Dr. Ellie Sattler

Julianne Moore - Sarah Harding

Richard Attenborough - John Hammond

Claire Danes - Lex Murphy/student

Paul Walker - Tim Murphy/student

Camilla Belle - Cathy Bowman/student

Dennis Quaid - Biologist

Jodie Foster - Biologist

Stanley Tucci - Lawyer/official

Christopher Walken - Financer/official

Morgan Freeman - Financer/official

Pete Postlethwaite - Roland Tembo

Arnold Vosloo - Military/hunter

Jason Statham - Military/hunter

Gerard Butler - Military/hunter

Oded Fehr - Military/hunter

Luis Guzmán - Local guide/hunter

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje - Local guide/hunter

Djimon Hounsou - Local guide/hunter

yeah a cast that big on a 4th movie, don't think so

Hm, why do you want to recast Tim and Lex? What's wrong with Joseph Mazzello and Ariana Richards?

Joseph Mazello isn't that much in acting any more and Ariana Richards neither. I love Claire Danes' natural acting style and think she'd do great in a JP movie. Also physically she'd be a believable older Lex Murphy.

Ragrding to Tim, I couldn't think of a really suitable older Tim, but I think Paul Walker has some charisma, and I'd like to see him more often.

Walker? Charisma? I've only seen him in Timeline, where he defined the exact opposite of charisma...

I saw him in the Fast and the Furious 1 and 2 and time line, and I thought he portrays his characters quite good. He may be not that versatile, but he really is who he should play in his roles, especially in Timeline. I think he'd do ok in a type cast role in JP. But I also think he would have made a great Anakin in Revenge of the Sith.

I have no idea if there's already an idea of which characters will be back or what, but if the film has to be made, I'd like to see all returning characters played by the same actors.

You definitely have to bring back Jeff Goldblum.

Goldblum is the man! He was certainly the backbone for JPII and made it more enjoyable to watch. I love his attitude and character in both JPI & II.

Let's have more Goldblum vs. the raptors!!

Again, again!! ;)

Totally agree, but what I liked especially was the interaction between Goldblum and Sam Neill in JP1. Jeff Goldblum vs. Harrison Ford would have been brilliant though ;)

It seems there could be another trilogy, not related with the other one. A new direction.

Somekind of reboot...but without telling the same story?

Source: Joe Johnston.

You said that there was no way to get people back on the island for a fourth time and have it make sense, but that 2001 was the last installment and we're due.

Well, there is going to be a Jurassic Park IV. And it's going to be unlike anything you've seen. It breaks away from the first three—it's essentially the beginning of the second Jurassic Park trilogy. It's going to be done in a completely different way. That's pretty much all I can tell you.

A second trilogy?

If you think of the first three as a trilogy, number four would be the beginning of a second trilogy.

That's big. So not to lock you in, but there's a possibility there might be a total of six films?

Well, you never know. If they keep working—and if audiences keep going to them—there's no reason why there wouldn't be. We just want to make them justified in their own right. We don't want to make sequel after sequel just because there's a market for it. We want to tell different, interesting stories. You don't want to just sell hamburger.

I love dinosaurs but to me the more films they make the more it becomes like a porno as you feel like skipping thru the acting to get to the sex (dinosaur) scenes.

I love the first two, but three pretty much made me lose interest. I'm sure I'll see the fourth at some point, but I don't have many expectations for it.

I enjoyed all of the first 3, all for different reasons, but still think there is a fantastic series of films to be made from actually going back to the source material.

As for the idea of a new trilogy? I say go for it - I'll be in line, if only for the first one!

My only thought is: dinosaurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssss!

Hmm. The first one is ok, the second one is objectively not great but I enjoy greatly, and the third has a surprisingly and disappointingly low bodycount. But I support more dinosaurs in cinema.

Good god, not another fracking reboot, please!!!! What is with reboots lately?

I love all three Jurassic Park films (3rd one a guilty pleasure for me), not too sad to see the 4th canned but to have a reboot? Gah...might as well have the dinos go back and eat John Hammond.

Not sure why JPIII needs to be a "guilty pleasure" - it's a great popcorn movie....less depth, less tension, less effective all round than the first 2, but still moves at cracking pace with an intelligent script....and is not plagued by overlength!! Good fun....

About the reboot... it was my conjeture...

Possibly they just want to have different characters or situations.

As long as they dont make thos army-dinos talked sometime ago...

I wouldnt mind if they made high quality dinosaur doccumentaries, after all the dinos are the important thing :|

Nothing will ever top the T-Rex in the rain sequence in terms of believing I was actually watching a real dinosaur.

We'll hear talk of how it won't be effects-driven and the action will be traditional and the dinos will be animatronic/puppets blah blah blah. Then when the movie rolls up our eyes will melt from all the unconvincing CGI. It'll just be Indy 4 all over again.

God I hope not. 3 movies is enough and makes a highly respectable trilogy.

I have always thought that the first novel would make a good miniseries actually, given how many subtleties and sub-plots are missing from the film.

(but then I tend to imagine many books as miniseries', such as Potter - gives them more room to breathe w/o stretching on for hours.)

Then when the movie rolls up our eyes will melt from all the unconvincing CGI. It'll just be Indy 4 all over again.

Lol yeah, we actually believed that promise...

JP3, among the worst movies I've ever seen. They killed the T-Rex with a giant duck, somehow made Alan Grant into a lame ass and replaced all other established likable characters with an irritating family. Where the hell are the guys with guns, T-Rex chases, Jeff Goldblum and Vince Vaughn? This movie blows Dilophosaur venom. Heed the goofy warning during the establishing shot of the island. This movie should be RESTRICTED.

We're talking about movies with dinosaurs. This ain't the freaking Godfather.

Also, Vince Vaughn = likeable? Since when?

So it's unreasonable to expect some degree of polish and realism because it's just a movie about dinosaurs? The first JP movie set a pretty high bar in terms of special effects and still managed to tell an interesting story with some likeable characters. I'm not expecting Citizen Kane, but I don't want to watch Transformers again either. I don't think there's anything outrageous about that.
