Fancyarcher 350
Love The Shape of Water noms. The Phantom Thread love is also quite surprising, probably the biggest surprise of all, given the lack of guild support prior outside of Day Lewis's performance. 1 minute ago, crocodile said: So Nolan got his first nomination then. In the 90s, they had more whimsical and populist choices like Silence of the Lambs, Forrest Gump and Titanic. And the 2000s of course Gladiator and Lord of the Rings 3. The trend this decade shows no sign of stepping back to that. And I know hardcore geeks are unforgiving for the Academy choosing Annie Hall over Star Wars (nerddom despises dramas or romantic comedies for some reason), but if it had to be beaten by something, I'm glad it was a Woody Allen film, because Annie Hall really is a good film -- although I think Manhattan might have been more deserving of recognition. publicist
