This was just posted on MuggleNet. I'm excited to see the rest of the Ultimate Edition special features, though I'm not likely to buy them myself any time soon. The clip features the orchestra playing Potter Waltz, which is one of the few Doyle HP tracks that I really enjoy.

They'd better include Desplat talking about the score. He signed on in January, I'm sure they squeezed in some scoring session footage and an interview when October 19 rolls around.

At the end of this dvd feature, we'll know the name of Deathly Hallows Part II composer....

Those HP7 posters are, interesting. Remind me of Azkaban's.

Well, the first one is fantastic. It was after that they started sucking.

Have you seen Struzan's unused poster for Chamber of Secrets?

And check this out:

It seems like the poster designer for the Christopher Nolan films are doing the HP promotional work. Occasionally, you'll get that TDK-style rawness that works, but it feels phoned in and lazy. Come on, the HBP poster has half the titular character's name blocked out and everything was slanted. I hated that.

Maybe David Yates will ask Struzan to do a Mary GrandPre-style poster for Part Two. That would be awesome beyond words.

That's just awful.

As far as Potter posters go, the first one was brilliant (the last big collage-style movie poster I remember that actually portrayed the story elements instead of just being a collection of floating heads), the rest ranged from spectacularly mediocre to bad. These new ones are easily the best since the first.

Mugglenet just posted this story that WB has scrapped plans to make DH Part I 3D. I'm glad. But I'm curious if the reasons they give are incomplete. Any thoughts?

I'm not very upset about this. I respect them not churning out a crappy 3D version and/or pushing the film's release date back. In a way I sort of wish they would abandon the 3D aspect for Part 2 as well, though I guess it all really doesn't matter.

Post-production probably took longer than expected, especially since production for both films officially wrapped in June. Regardless how far along post was on Part One, they did do some reshoots/pick up shots right before filming ended. I think the WB was hoping Yates would've had the film done two months ago, that way they'd be converting the finished product as opposed to getting it a week ago.

I'm glad Part One is not in 3D. It was just a ham-fisted money grab anyway, and I wouldn't be surprised if the WB does a re-release of Part One in 3D a few months before Part Two hits theaters.

Yeah... it sounds in some ways like a rock-enduced remix of the music in Half-Blood Prince when Dumbledore is dead and everyone is raising their wands. But it has realistic sounding choral elements and etc... so it could be real. I just hope the rest of the score doesn't sound like this. It doesn't really even sound like Desplat to me.

Wow... Its totally faked. Strings sound good but yea... With hollywod string samples out now, its hard to say. There are several people on you tube writing their own scores to the story with not much better success than wbat that sounded like.

Anyone else think that kinda sounds like porn music lol

It might work for twilight, but not potter, which is ironic cause the desplat score to twilight made me think of harry potter :shakes head:

Come on ! How could someone actually think this is what Desplat wrote for Dumbledore's funeral ?

Soon, you'll get a Jedi Rocks kind of song, and someone will claim this is what Desplat come up with for Bill and Fleur's wedding !

I never liked the SS poster, or any of the Harry Potter posters really.

I hate floating head posters.

The best poster of this decade has been Wall-E.

This one was great too:

I don't like either of those.

Wall-E looks like a robot E.T. ripoff watching his spaceship take off in the opening scene.

The "HP7" is awful if just for the fact that they called the movie that. Maybe it's the way they process them through computers nowadays, but I rarely like movie posters anymore. They all sort of look the same to me for some reason.

If it's between bad 3D and no 3D at all, the answer is obvious.

"Expecto patronum... Nah nah nah... Not o-NAM, O-nam! Expecto patronum!!!"

Hubba hubba zoot zoot?

In my opinion there's a HUGE difference between classic collage posters which combine all the major aspects of a film in an inevitably "floating" way, and modern posters with just the heads of the lead actors floating on a nondescript background. The PS poster clearly falls into the first category.
