Anyway, I am reviving the thread to highlight that 18 years after all those worries Williams is scoring another Indiana Jones adventure. Riddikulous!

Today would be Bernard Herrmann's eleventy-first birthday (as Bilbo Baggins would say) and I can't think of any better way to celebrate it than to support Intrada's Kickstarter to have William Stromberg conduct TWO great Herrmann scores in new recordings!

There was also a great video segment of directors who have worked with Williams describing what it was like and wishing him happy birthday.
 
It included Spielberg, Ron Howard, Rob Marshall, Chris Columbus, Oliver Stone, George Lucas, and JJ Abrams.
 
It appeared that Oliver Stone’s segment may have been cut short to only wishing John a happy birthday, and did not include him describing their collaboration.

The Superman March was played over a fantastic montage of stills and clips of Williams, some of which I’ve never seen.  I hope someone got that, it was great.

After Throne Room, all of the guests returned to the stage together to applaud Johnny.  The orchestra started playing Happy Birthday and the entire concert hall sang to him.  Then gold streamers and confetti shot out from the balconies.
 
Deneve then handed Williams the baton and motioned him towards the podium.  Williams conducted The Imperial March, the only encore.

Daisy Ridley made an appearance and sang John a sultry rendition of “Happy Birthday”

This, Williams's main theme, Vader's voice algorithm, and Liam Neeson's surprisingly professional cameo are the only things in this series that felt good to me.
 
Okay, maybe also a few moments in McGregor's fight choreography. Some of those moves were damn smooth.
 
Everything else was a voice of a million Plinketts crying out in terror.

All those millions of voices suddenly silenced on Alderaan, because Benny refused to finish Vader for the second time!
 
I did like how as he walks away, he simply refers to him as “Darth”, as Guinness would in the original film. 
 
This does work with Benny being so resolute that Luke kill Vader in ROTJ, because he’s twisted and evil. 
 
And Vader admitting to “killing” Anakin makes Benny less of a liar to Farmboy Luke, from a certain point of view.

So the last episode, probably the best though that's not saying much. As @Chen G. said, at last there is some pathos here that hits the mark. Between Anakin and Obi-wan, between Reva and Obi-wan, and especially that last scene between Obi-wan and Leia with the score playing Leia's Theme. That was quite moving.
 
The final Vader-Obi-wan duel was nice, though Obi-wan was suddenly laughably overpowered. 
 
I like that they ended with Obi-wan going forward to some unknown adventure rather than burying himself in the sand to wait for A New Hope.

Haha well misspelling aside, I thank you for posting that tracklist cause looking at the pieces I'd say there's a good chance he actually recorded some of my arrangements !
The Star Wars ones, Bill Conti's Mickey and Yoko Kanno's Little Sister all are covers I made in the past few years and for which I released the sheet music, and the timing of his recordings matches 
I need to add that Hervé is one of the horn players who inspired me when I picked up the horn so...if those are indeed my arrangements I'd say that's pretty cool 

The first part of the piece (the friendship theme) shines better with the slower tempo. But the second part (victory theme), yeah, that's too slow. 

Sorry if I missed something in the thread, but how do we know that ? 

The victory theme in particular is played very slow. It's little odd, like the music is played at .8 speed or something. I don't think it works as well compared to the OST recording.

Ireland's National Symphony Orchestra included it at the JW 90th birthday concert: (1:59:07)
They also included it as part of a May the Fourth concert which I believe was broadcast on the radio (RTÉ Lyric FM), but can't seem to find a record of it in an archive.

Yes, it's a new arrangement for cello and violin. Mutter said on her Facebook page that she was practicing it during breaks between gigs in the last few weeks.
 
My guess is that Dear Basketball will be performed live to picture, as the program notes are saying clips will be shown during the concerts.
