A friend ordered the CD version (in stock, apparently?!) of DoD yesterday 4/23/24 from a link to Disney Music Emporium.

He got a confirmation email for it and everything looks legit.

But after placing the order, he noticed that the return email address is disneymusicemporium@musictoday.com.   Not sure who MusicToday is - but they have a lot of negative remarks on the web.  Looks like their address is in rural Virginia judging from a Google Map search (5391 Three Notched Road Crozet, VA 22932).  Seems odd Disney would use a third-party shipper.

Also, if you go to DME directly (not using that link) the CD version of DoD is nowhere to be found, only the LP version.  Does anyone have any further insight on this?

Well that’s definitely the email address I had when I bought my copy, which was delivered safely several months back.

There's an argument to be made...a very good argument...that over 45+ years, 11 films, 9 animated series, 7 live-action series, and countless shorts, specials, comics & books, Star Wars has produced only two truly great, classic pieces of pop culture art, the last happening over four decades ago. The rest range from merely "good" to mid to bad.

That reminds me of the old Joseph Heller line (how true it is, I don’t know):

Interviewer: “You’ve not written anything as good since Catch 22”

Heller: “No, but no one else has either!”

And that’s how I feel about Star Wars.  Nothing has quite captured me ever since the OT as a youngster and I doubt ever will.

So “good” (Mandalorian, Clone Wars) to “very good“ (Andor) is more than enough for me.

    Very nice thread, this! <3

In addition to the Anthology and Close Encounters ads and various German ones I also have this in my Williams binder that I have been maintaining for more than 30 years now and that some of you saw when you added one of the last pages with all your autographs on the Milano programme (<3):

P.S.: Oh my, this belongs in the Star Wars Anthology thread - I just duplicated it there, sorry, too much seasonal beverages ;)

I loved seeing that in Milan.  Sometime, give me two hours, a nice drink, my reading glasses and a comfy chair to really look at it!

That was an absolutely phenomenal weekend. The event on Saturday was so good. Huge thanks to Maurizio, Tim and guests. Hugh and Eric were just wonderful to listen to. Emilio is always a pleasure, and the things Mike spoke about and shared with us were incredible. I felt genuinely spoilt. It was a great feeling to be in that room with everyone. I met some fantastic folk, and caught up with some lovely friends.

And then the concert on Sunday too! I was just being spoon-fed Williams love with a shovel all weekend 😂

    This, exactly.
