There's an argument to be made...a very good argument...that over 45+ years, 11 films, 9 animated series, 7 live-action series, and countless shorts, specials, comics & books, Star Wars has produced only two truly great, classic pieces of pop culture art, the last happening over four decades ago. The rest range from merely "good" to mid to bad.
That reminds me of the old Joseph Heller line (how true it is, I don’t know):Interviewer: “You’ve not written anything as good since Catch 22”
Heller: “No, but no one else has either!”
And that’s how I feel about Star Wars. Nothing has quite captured me ever since the OT as a youngster and I doubt ever will.
So “good” (Mandalorian, Clone Wars) to “very good“ (Andor) is more than enough for me.

Just read The Times article: no mention of Williams conducting in London (just references the ASM concert) but interestingly does say “starry guest-conducting gigs in Vienna next year and Berlin in 2025”.

Very nice thread, this! <3
In addition to the Anthology and Close Encounters ads and various German ones I also have this in my Williams binder that I have been maintaining for more than 30 years now and that some of you saw when you added one of the last pages with all your autographs on the Milano programme (<3):
P.S.: Oh my, this belongs in the Star Wars Anthology thread - I just duplicated it there, sorry, too much seasonal beverages
I loved seeing that in Milan. Sometime, give me two hours, a nice drink, my reading glasses and a comfy chair to really look at it! -

Although my collection's on my iPod, I made a point of keeping my CDs, and the soundtracks in particular. There are several good reasons to hold onto your physical media, but for me there's also the fact that my soundtrack collection represents a lot of hunting and good memories of having found them. Thanks to this thread, I dug up the Anthology box and opened it for the first time in literally decades. It's in great shape. I saw some alarming videos on YouTube about CD rot (especially those in digipaks) and was glad to see that my collection is still pristine and unaffected by time.

That was an absolutely phenomenal weekend. The event on Saturday was so good. Huge thanks to Maurizio, Tim and guests. Hugh and Eric were just wonderful to listen to. Emilio is always a pleasure, and the things Mike spoke about and shared with us were incredible. I felt genuinely spoilt. It was a great feeling to be in that room with everyone. I met some fantastic folk, and caught up with some lovely friends.
And then the concert on Sunday too! I was just being spoon-fed Williams love with a shovel all weekend 😂
This, exactly.- Martinland and bigjimwilson

Did you get the Dial of Destiny soundtrack on the CD format before it sold out?

Well that’s definitely the email address I had when I bought my copy, which was delivered safely several months back.
