The postage must have been astronomical.

No, it's a big electronics store in the center of town where I live. I live in the center too. It's a two minute walk. There's also a big supermarket (Delhaize) located beneath it and so I visit both stores regularly. In fact, today I walked around the supermarket while holding the Blu-ray of A.I. in my hand.

Wow! The Batman Anthology and Die Hard Complete Collection have both dropped to $26.99 today - thats $6.75 per movie!

Is this just a one day deal thing, or is that the permanent price from now on?

I did some research, and like Koray said the Batman box is the deal of the week at Amazon. Trent since you only want the first movie, I'd recommend the Blu Ray Book version, very nice packaging.

As for Die Hard, apparently it was $25.99 on Amazon a few weeks ago, and $20.00 at Wal Mart a week before that.

It's currently $25 at Wal Mart right now:

Ah okay thanks for the information. So it seems like the current price then. Glad it's gone down. It seems the box sets like this are going down in price now. At least ones that have been around for a while.

I know for Batman, it's the Deal Of The Week. I saw it and was like "Hot damn!" and was about to order... then I was like "These movies are shit." Needless to say I didn't buy the set.

Well, if one only likes movie one and two, it's still a good deal at the moment. I'll wait until the Michael Keaton Batman movies drop below $10, and then buy them individually. I once spent way too much for all four movies on DVD; I don't need 3 & 4 again.

A.I. is gorgeous. It looks better than everyday life. Sex for your eyes.

I got Private Ryan and Psycho. Highly recommended. Now if Universal would just release more of their classics.

I know I took some risk doing that, but hey, you can't always be cool and suave. I hope the cashiers will understand that.

I got the Blade Runner 5-disc set today. I just can't get enough of Blade Runner.

It took you a long time though!

On Saturday I walked into my local K-Mart and picked up the new 10th Anniversary edition of Memento. They are selling it for $7.99!

They told me in 2000 my Sony Vega flatscreen CRT would last me 20 years!

It all depends on what you want to do with it.

If you're looking for that Sony TV to keep up with the improvements made in devices that send signals to TV's -- DVD, Blu-Ray, high-def broadcasts and cable-based signals -- or other high-tech TV's, then no, it won't keep pace those two decades, one of which is gone.

But they didn't lie. If you protect the device from power surges, keep it from accumulating dust inside, service it as needed, and otherwise don't abuse it, it could very well keep working that long.

We have an analog CRT mounted in a wooden box that lasted over 20 years, but now nearing 30 years, we just use it as a table.

Best Buy actually had a good deal, buy two Disney Blus for $35. I picked up The Incredibles and Tron Legacy.

Eh, decent deal

I picked up The Incredibles and Cars last week at Best Buy for $12.34 each using the Disney Rewards coupon for each combined with their sale price and additional $10 off if you buy both

Yea why, are they supposed to be out of business or something? There's one near my work and one near my home

Yeah they downsized drastically about 6 - 7 years ago. Closed up a bunch of stores.

We only have one left in the area and I don't know how they still stay in business because there's hardly anyone shopping there.

You definitely never hear anyone talk about KMart... everyone shops at either Walmart or Target it seems

Considering both are over $20 separately, I found it to be a good deal.

Spend enough time reading that form and you'll find that paying more than $8 for any blu ray (or $12ish for Disney/Pixar) is too high :)

Yea $20 is way too much :P

Yea, Criterion is another exception, though you can wait for Criterion sales they do at Borders every year or so

Those of you who are fans of Stargate Atlantis, the complete series will be released on Blu-Ray in July.

News info from Gateworld:

http://www.gateworld.net/news/2011/04/stargate-atlantis-coming-to-blu-ray-in-july/

Amazon link:

They're looking into plans about Stargate SG-1 being released on Blu-Ray but a lot of the older episodes would have to be remastered for high definition.

Amazon.com has David Attenburrough's LIFE on Blu Ray for only $27.99 in celebration of Earth Day. I'm just mad they don't have "Planet Earth" for the same price right now, since that is, to me, the superior of the two.

Btw, speaking of Criterion films, anyone want my WALKABOUT Blu Ray for only $20? PM me.

Don't get the Oprah version of Life whatever you do. Check out the reviews on Amazon for the Oprah version, and then check out the reviews for the Attenborough version.

Nice. I'm hoping that the complete intended Prequel scores (and hopefully) remastered OT scores will be included in the Blu-Ray set (the other 3 discs). I'll be eagerly waiting to read the details about this set on the 4th.

Universal is holding their best stuff hostage and the Indys SHOULD have been released since the fourth movie has been on Blu-ray since 2008. Dumb. It was rumored they were going to be released, but Spielberg intervened for some reason. ROTLA was broadcast on TV with a CGI freefall shot of the car falling off the cliff. Lucas probably changed them all around.
