Amer 2,109
The Red Seal edition of the Gerhardt STARWARS/CE3K album is the best pressing sound wise without the ambient surround mix that came on the other Gerhardt film score recordings. I have this and the JEDI album. 1977

Naïve Old Fart 9,533
TREESONG is rather nice, but I prefer the 1983 recording of the VIOLIN CONCERTO. Andy and GerateWohl
Richard Penna 3,690
Finally bought The Batman after identifyng 64 minutes that I like, but at least I had the luxury of selecting those 64 minutes Plus the title track from Uncharted. It's amazing how Djawadi can come up with another memorable theme, then cast aside that inspiration when composing the actual score. Outlander Season 6 is on my radar and will probably pick it up at some point, but I won't be watching the season any time soon. Bit too much emphasis on the Gaelic theme variations on this album for my liking - I'd prefer McCreary focused on his score.

There absolutely are. But I have most of those already, so I'm still hesitant to buy the Sony box at its current price, even though I'm missing about half - but the (presumably) less interesting half - the albums it contains. Andy 4,129
Damien is terrific fun. It really could use another release. There's significant damage to one of the tracks (The film version of Claws), and I think the choral sounds that kick off Broken Ice in the film mix sound more pronounced than what is on the CD. Bespin 8,483
So I started with Videodrome. And it's excellent! I've read an old review in a newspaper from 1983, the guy, who hated the album, said it was "great music to commit suicide by".

They are damn good, too, as is HEAD ON THE DOOR, but SEVENTEEN SECONDS was right in the middle of my New Wave phase, so I've a soft spot for it. The one record that I also really like, is MIXED UP, but I don't think it gets much love among fans of The Cure.

Which sounds like its same-year counterpart 'The Fury' thin-ish and not at all apocalyptic. I don't know if both were recorded at Fox, but this problem lasted until the early 1980s (think of 'Masada'). Strangely enough, pristine recordings like TMP or Jaws 2 were possible, but they certainly were no industry standard. Naïve Old Fart
Naïve Old Fart 9,533
Agreed. It's difficult to determine which had the better recording facilities; Los Angeles, or London. THE FURY is not very good, but the OST, recorded in All Souls Church, Tooting Bec, if memory serves, is fantastic. Conversely, CE3K sounds great. Of course, both JAWS 2, and TMP, had two of the very best engineers working on them: John Neal, and Bruce Botnick respectively.
