I made a compilation of every time we hear Voller's theme in the leaked Tangier chase clip.

 

 

Then, in the following four clips, I play each excerpt of Voller's theme on the piano. For convenience, I've transposed each excerpt into the key of C minor.

Hmmmm, I’m not sure this amounts to a proper theme. This all just sounds like standard Williams action cue writing in my opinion.

Remembering the Knights of Ren motif from The Rise of Skywalker... it's very difficult to predict from a snippet what could be related to a theme or is just a generic motive. But maybe you're right.

It's kind of weird to give it a fake title but alright 

 

I'm not hearing anything terribly thematic here. Mostly sounds like standard JW "sinister action" writing. But if there does end up being anything thematic here it'll probably be something comparable to the KoR motif like Ragoz said, certainly not remotely comparable to the Imperial March of all things.

 

I am interested in hearing this full interpretation though.

Very interesting, but I wouldn't declare anything as a theme yet. This is comparable to sighting a UFO on a grainy potato phone video. But unlike UFOs, we'll have the answers soon enough. Good effort tho.

Regardless, I love your effort here. Thanks for putting that much work into something like this and then sharing it with the community. Very fun to speculate about this score in this small window we have before release where we'll never get to look forward to a John Williams Indiana Jones score again, and I always respect and am in awe of this level of geeking out.

This is very cool work @Garrett, I'm impressed you were able to decipher such detail from that video! Will be fun to keep an ear out for all the new themes once the film comes out, if the OST isn't released early.

 

As @Cerebral Cortex alluded, this isn't just the final time we'll be able to speculate on new themes for a John Williams Indiana Jones score, but possibly a new John Williams score, period. That's worth celebrating.

I remember when there was a trailerized snippet from The Jedi Steps in a tv spot and i thought "i swear the melody is JW" but i wouldn't have known what it really was at all.

That was my initial reaction as well. The main difference between the two is that Pettigrew's theme ends on the 7th degree of the scale, whereas Voller's theme ends on the flatted 7th degree of the scale - a subtle but important distinction. The flatted 7th is unusual among Williams villain themes, which are usually written in the harmonic minor. This fact gives us a clue as to the harmonic underpinnings of Voller's theme.

Voller's theme works well in march form, which you will all hear for yourselves soon enough. Stay tuned.
