What do you do when you see John Williams name onscreen?

Me, whenever I see JW's name onscreen I usually just close my eyes and smile to myself...I might whisper a little "Hoo-rah." or just wait for that moment to take a bite of candy (If his name is at the beginning of the movie, that is.) But I always feel as it's a great moment nobody else in the theatre experiences but me.

I was quite surprised that, at a screening I went to of Revenge of the Sith, Williams got a cheer when his name appeared on-screen....the people of Gloucester have got good taste!

I just smile to myself......

I usually give a few soft claps.

A friend of mine, who knows I like film music, but likes very very little of it himself, often shouts "I LOVE JOHN WILLIAMS!!!!" very loud at the beginning of a JW-scored movie right when the lights dim, just for fun. I myself said it at medium decibels before GoF, for the sole reason that it didn't have a JW score.

I don't see anyone cheer for John Williams when his name appeared on-screen in the movie theatre in Australia when i go to see a movie. John Williams isn't really a big fan in Australia. I know a few people who here like me that is a fan of John Williams from Australia.

Last year, some people in the audience cheered and applauded when John Williams's name came up after Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban. Then I smiled to myself. I think JW is more widely known than one would assume . . .

I do a happy dance, do a little wanking, call everyone I know, scream, shout, droul, FREAK and start partying 24 hours non-stop!!!

No seriously: I see his credit, smile and think in nerdy-fashion: "Yesssss"

Usually i begin sobbing like a little girl, and have to be escorted out by cinema staff who comfort me while whispering - "There there....it'll be alright"

I would be inappropriate to wave your wand around in a crowded theater unless of course it cums from Hogwarts.

Oh I acknowledge Williams' name with smile and a approving nod. It is always nice to see his name to appear in the opening/end credits.

This should be re-named "The Official Double Entendre" thread. So many of them, and so little time to appreciate the dexterous wit laden in each of them. Fine job gentlemen, fine job indeed.

No one does masturbatton?

Luke, who thinks he is going to exhaust the joke.

You can't. I tell you, it's brilliant. Did you make it up (the word, I mean)?

Anyways, I beam with a wholly undeserved sense of pride.

I think i did. But i never put the definition:

MASTURBATTON: the act of reaching self-pleasure by handing and waving an elongated instrument while hearing orchestral music.

I usually want to clap, but I don't, because people will think me crazy. Which, of course, I am, but I try (and fail) to make people not notice. Last time I saw RotS on my DVD, I did clap. :|

- Marc, who always makes note of the composer and director credits.

Same here. Since I'm the score-world, everytime I see a movie poster, the first thing I search is the name of the composer.
