The sketch might have been for an insert for Just Down West street or such.

In this universe, these movies are called "Rouge Two: A Star Killer Story" and "Jurassic Circus".
back in the 90s when I watched SNL, there would be times when I was not sure whether the commercial I was watching was legit or a spoof. I am having the same confusion with "Rouge Two."

I thought that he had a brief cameo in Sabrina as the pianist, but I could be wrong.
In terms of SS, notice that he does put himself in the movies either--I don't think that it is his thing.

Cool. Kind of weird, but cool. Sounds like some sort of secret society in the vein of Eyes Wide Shut, but without the youthful nudity.

I wonder, if this Violin Concerto No. 2 will ever be performed by anyone else than ASM.
As this was kind of a personal gift, probably no other performer will be interested in this one.
If you wanna play a Williams violin concerto, you can play no. 1.
No. 2 is probably just ASM's.

The obscure pieces would be the The Esplanade Overture, Men of Yorktown March, Leaving Home version from the Oscars, Of Grit and Glory, Seven Years in Tibet, Amazing Stories: The Mission: Jonathan Begins to Draw and The Landing. Something from AI: Maybe Search for the Blue Fairy and/or Reunion. NBC News Suite--especially the Fugue for Changing Times. Nixon: The Turbulent Years. Masterpiece Theatre American Collection Theme. Parade of the Slave Children.

Cool topic. I will think on it. Part of the problem for me is that I would selfishly want pieces I have not heard performed. So the program would not be the normal crowd pleaser.
However, I will think about it in terms using the assumption that I have heard it all performed before, so what do I want to hear again.

Yes, I am referring to the upcoming DG release. Relistening to the piece, it does play like a mini concerto for orchestra. Back in the day, it was reported that Williams was working on such a concerto, which then became Tributes/for seiji. I wonder if his work on The Phantom Menace took a bit more time than anticipated, which led to a smaller scale version of his original plans. Either way, it is a great little piece--all the stylings of Williams's concertos, with highlights for flute, clarinet, horn, distilled into one movement.

I would say that the score should Whirl through Academ(e)y.
Sometimes my writing is as clumsy as it is stupid.

I might complain about a Williams loss in a generic Oscar thread. I would not crash a celebratory Goransson thread to air any complaints.

I agree with some of the other winners (drama film, and documentary) and DoD being best adventure score? Sure. Not score of the year though, sorry peeps.

Because by Williams standards is in my bottom list of his output.
Yeah, I remember my parent's 30th anniversary party. You know, how people were coming up to them and telling them they would have preferred they married different people, and how there are other couples whose anniversary they would rather celebrate. Great memories, great party.

Excellent news. It is nice to see Williams get such honors from people who actually focus on the craft itself.

Maybe JW has told them he is done with international flights?
Very possible. He looked ragged in the Japan videos (not a criticism, anyone would. but for a 92 year old, that is crazy intense).
