JW also quoted music used in Brazil for the Canto Bight casino. But I've never seen Brazil so it went over my head. Luke cannot have been a dead projection for the entire movie because it makes no sense for a ghost to have a daily routine. Why would a ghost repeatedly reject the idea of giving the spark to the Resistance, then need the counsel of another ghost, an assumed equal, on the same ascended plane of consciousness to change his mind about it? Seems that it takes a lot of energy and effort for a Force ghost to reappear in the real world, as it only happens fleetingly (yet in just about every movie where it can). Maintaining that charade for the entire film is silly. He could just project himself to every FO soldier and scare them into just jumping out airlocks. Here's the two year old question: What if Snoke was just a Force projection the whole time? He clearly wasn't. But what if JJ decides he was... Nick1Ø66 6,076
I don't think so. Balahkay 629
I figured she got in contact with Chewie when she took Snoke's ship via radio or whatever they use. 1977 1,746
For those that are interested (courtesy of thedigitalbits): And file this in The Rumor Mill, but a number of our retail sources have checked in with word that the tentative street date for Disney’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD is 3/27. That sounds about right, but the date could still shift a little bit until it’s officially announced. We do know that the Blu-rays will include about 20 minutes of deleted scenes and, one would imagine, a trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story as well. http://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two-cents/010518-1545 John

Luka 275
That is sad to hear... I mean, I also questioned it the first time I saw it and wasn't sure what I thought, but after seeing it a second time and with the time that passed, I think it really is a good movie! Once you accept the things that might surprise you at first, you come to realize that it's a damn good movie. So to hear that some people don't even want to see it anymore because of the harsh critiques we hear on the internet (because yes, the bad ones are going to stand out most over the good ones), kind of saddens me a bit. People shouldn't be so hard on it. At least I think. Arpy and John
Arpy 4,162
TLJ is a good film, two years of hype-building expectations and broken fan-theories are why there is this backlash and vocal disappointment. Strip away the awkward Leia scene, get over Snoke's premature death and Rey's parentage and you're left with one of the best Star Wars films made, probably since ANH and ESB. Is TLJ a great film, a perfect film? Fuck no. I have problems with it and after seeing the film I was speechless, I didn't know what to think or feel because I felt betrayed that my expectations weren't met. But weeks stewing on it, listening to the score and conjuring up imagery of the film, my thoughts have solidified and they're largely positive. It's disappointing to see the backlash, but also how that backlash and misinformed word of mouth have affected this film's reception. Someone hears all this bitching and takes it on face value without seeing the film and making their own mind up. Holko and Luka 1

Popular Post Ludwig 1,169
For me, Star Wars has always been about one thing above all others: imagination. The groundbreaking first film gave us a fantasy world composed of such a mashup of different film genres that it leaves room for a nearly endless amount of fleshing out by subsequent films. So while TFA was the first film in the saga to shy away from this idea (for solid reasons of establishing the new films as successors to the OT and emphatically not the PT), TLJ reveled in imaginative explorations of the elements laid down in TFA. I, for one, loved the result, but whether one loved it, hated it, or was somewhere in between, I think all would agree that the creative impulse that brought Star Wars into existence was in a different way rekindled to move away from a retelling of the OT stories and bring us something new, which for me has always been the principle behind Lucas' creation.
