I knew and admired a handful of his better-known tracks - The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald, If You Could Read My Mind, Carefree Highway, etc - but last night, lying in bed, I decided to go through some of his back-catalogue on Spotify. Some really impressive songwriting right there! Tallguy and Naïve Old Fart

Sweeping Strings 2,384
R.I.P. Only 58. It wasn't well reviewed or a hit, but it could be argued that the pulpy ultraviolence of his Punisher movie 'got' the spirit of the comic book better than either the Dolph Lundgren or Thomas Jane ones. Thor 7,559
Oh, shucks. I never listened to Tina Turner actively, but her hits are obviously a big part of my childhood. Her two forrays into film songs -- "Goldeneye" and "We Don't Need Another Hero" -- are also excellent. I still think "Goldeneye" is the best Bond song ever written. I also haven't seen the film with the Oscar nominated Angela Bassett. Time to change that...

Andy 4,161
That was excellent casting and a brilliant performance. I never doubted her in that role.
