Wojo 2,453
"To boot" is an English idiom that means in addition or besides. We received an extra week's pay to boot. That's like the time in fourth grade, the teacher had a policy where we could not tell another student to "shut up." It was a pretty good policy from a self-esteem building perspective, which is what public education is all about anymore. Self-esteem first, education second. Anyways, I very innocently said that after playing a board game (it was raining for recess), I was going to "shut up" the box. And the kid beside me went ballistic and stormed to the teacher to tattle.
